Thats not true at all. UA and AA are not insourcing as much but they do it.

and AA + TASEL is pretty big FWIW
which is why I said "as great of an ability"

every airline of any size insources a certain amount.

And TAESL is a joint venture or at least part of the proceeds flow to Rolls, a different scenario from DL Tech Ops - and the LH which you like to note - and which I too would be a great place for DL to get to in terms of insourcing.

Screw that "Direct Relationship" schmaltzo. Get me some more cabbage in my wallet!!!!!

I'm so glad you posted that chart because it validates that my estimates regarding the value of Profit sharing were within 3% of what I said AA FAs should have gotten credit for profit sharing if they were receiving what DL FAs will receive.

Mr. Anderson has said that DL expects to pay out profit sharing in the value of 15% of DL employees' salaries.

IF AA FA's received the same level of profit sharing that DL FAs will be receiving for 2014, that amounts to about $200 million in profit sharing PER YEAR that WAS NOT accounted for in the APFA contract and not replaced by something else that has anywhere close to a similar value.

in fact if you take the value of the floor contracts (in the chart) plus the pay raise DL FAs will receive plus the increased value of profit sharing for this year, AA FAs are getting LESS than the increased total compensation that DL FAs will receive.

so, no, AA FAs were handed a half open bottle of "vintage" sauerkraut instead of cold, fresh cabbage.

Profit sharing is a form of gambling over having direct wages that are concrete and guaranteed. It's a form of  "deferred" or "possible" compensation that is only triggered IF the company earns a profit and triggers the payout. Bills aren't paid through possibilities and you also can't apply for a loan for anything based on informing the lender "Well I get PS at the end of the year and I THINK it's going to be this much"

Do I THINK the airlines are going to be profitable for many years to come? YES! But we also know looking at this Ebola Crapola, Russia invading the Ukraine and a softening of the economies in Europe, Japan and China. Not to mention issues with Venezuela and now Argentina that global issues do put a crimp on profits and can even possibly grind them to a complete halt.

Touting up the benefits of possibilities over absolutes is irresponsible and quite frankly foolish economically. Your personal finances aren't something that should be thrown to a Roulette wheel no matter how good the odds.

Doug Parker has said he's not a fan of PS in contracts but he also said if that's really what the Unions want then OK. It was the APFA that ultimately "CHOSE" to forgo it for direct wages and benefits to their contract and I agree with that decision and hope my negotiators do too.

I want my company to keep it's profits. They can use it to pay down debt, make capital improvements and reward shareholders (Which I'm also one) Profits should be used to strengthen the foundation of the company and have assets for the next rainy day that always comes. If they do this and the foundation is strong then there is more money in the future till for me to ask for more in the next round of negotiations.

I played the Lotto yesterday for the first time in maybe 6 months. $3.00 Quick Pick. Guess how I did? But playing the Lotto again was my "CHOICE"

The only thing spooky would be the IAM coming in the DL propery and taking over. And your whole communications strategy is failing here. If the people running the campaign were actual flight attendants or the least bit in touch with their work life and schedules they would know announcing an event four days in advance is no way to get attendees and participation. Guess you don't realize F/As are away on multi day trips and aren't necessarily able to plan to attend your propaganda sessions which is a good thing.

So why, exactly, are you here again?
To push his IAM agenda all day every day! But he's only a withdrawn member and not paid to post here. But of course he worked on the IBT raid at USAIR last summer, made a few calls about Robbed's five year old grievance and will do his part if asked for the IAM-TWU alliance.

what a load of cow crap WT  you boast bout DL PS and how beautiful it is.  but if there's a another downturn  I bet u that DL would not share it.

"Josh"--

Tell us more about your expertise when it comes to DL F/A's and their trip patterns ex-NYC.

P.S. Name dropping your sCo friends across the bridge in EWR doesn't count.

Can't speak for DL but at AA F/As receive their the final bids from crew scheduling by the 20th of the preceding month, but of course line holders often know far advance. Can't imagine things are much different at DL. Point is it's pretty poor communication in the "grassroots" activists part. Again who pays for all this if it's a grassroots campaign?

So now you know our schedules, please I can drop a trip any time I want !! Don't pist what you don't know about!

josh,  just one question here...   How do you know the schedules and things if you are not an active member of AA or DL  or any other air carrier?  That is for crews and employees to know depending on the area of work  not for anyone on the outside to know?????
