Is it possible for non-employees to attend the Halloween meet and greet? If it's at a public place they'd have a hard time turning people away. After all it says your "ID" is your ticket, I have both a MA DL and two passports I can bring along.

Yeah, that wouldn't be creepy at all.

Retirees contribute nothing and yet still retain benefits.

Some contribute more than the company wants, I am quite sure.

I've gone to APFA roadshows, meetings and pickets around the system. Never to anything for IAM DL.

Didn't have to many of the F/As know me from my flights and one lived in my building before.

retirees aren't paid out of the same accounts as active employees and don't receive health care or other benefits from the same funds as active employees.

the only true commonality is that retirees pay the same thing for using pass benefits as active employees pay

and retirees do not retain their ability to return to the same position they once had; active AA FAs who work no hours for months are still required to return to work at some point.

retirees are not.

A better question is, "Why are unions spending millions trying to get inside companys"?

And please don't use that " Our #1 priority is to the people!"

We all know it's about dues payers!

A traveling salesman stopped by my house today offering to sell me some profit sharing. I asked him to give me a written guarantee that it was a better product than a guaranteed contract with a larger base? He said that he couldn't offer me that guarantee, so I politely asked him to step away from my door as I had better things to do.

Profit sharing is a form of gambling over having direct wages that are concrete and guaranteed. It's a form of  "deferred" or "possible" compensation that is only triggered IF the company earns a profit and triggers the payout. Bills aren't paid through possibilities and you also can't apply for a loan for anything based on informing the lender "Well I get PS at the end of the year and I THINK it's going to be this much"

Do I THINK the airlines are going to be profitable for many years to come? YES! But we also know looking at this Ebola Crapola, Russia invading the Ukraine and a softening of the economies in Europe, Japan and China. Not to mention issues with Venezuela and now Argentina that global issues do put a crimp on profits and can even possibly grind them to a complete halt.

Touting up the benefits of possibilities over absolutes is irresponsible and quite frankly foolish economically. Your personal finances aren't something that should be thrown to a Roulette wheel no matter how good the odds.

Doug Parker has said he's not a fan of PS in contracts but he also said if that's really what the Unions want then OK. It was the APFA that ultimately "CHOSE" to forgo it for direct wages and benefits to their contract and I agree with that decision and hope my negotiators do too.

I want my company to keep it's profits. They can use it to pay down debt, make capital improvements and reward shareholders (Which I'm also one) Profits should be used to strengthen the foundation of the company and have assets for the next rainy day that always comes. If they do this and the foundation is strong then there is more money in the future till for me to ask for more in the next round of negotiations.

I played the Lotto yesterday for the first time in maybe 6 months. $3.00 Quick Pick. Guess how I did? But playing the Lotto again was my "CHOICE"

Exactly how much would you owe the company if they posted a loss?

Working at the company you work at, is also a "CHOICE"

and yet the data consistently shows that WN employees have seen bigger increases in total compensation because they have accepted a degree of risk and yet in the long run have come out ahead.

DL has restructured its business such that its employees are receiving larger increases in compensation than its peers - and DL's successes are directly attributable to its belief that the traditional way that US legacy airlines have been run is not suitable for long term financial success which is why DL has ditched many of those approaches.

DL employees are indeed getting bigger returns and it has gone on for years.

AA, quite simply might not ever reach the level of profitability that DL will and its employees are better off staying in the same pattern of gaining wage gains when the company can pay and having them taken away when times go bad.

DL employees, based on their belief that DL has changed the way DL runs its business, believe that higher profit sharing is not a risk but an indication of DL's successes that will be long-term, just as it has been for WN.

and also is not financially viable for the company but AA has too many FAs so they are willing to do it.instead of doing an early retirement package as DL does which removes employees from the payroll or leaves of absence as UA has done, AA is simply allowing a large pool of part-time employees with full-time benefits.doing so for any length of time for a large number of employees is not financially sustainable for the company.
Wrong again we have had rounds of early retirement!! Wrong, it's of no cost to the company because other FA's pick up the trips for extra time!!! Again it's at no cost to the company!!! Don't post on what you don't know!! Have you ever done a sermon on admitting you'r mistakes??
