The title is also misleading because by definition this isn't a grassroots campaign-it is heavily directed and subsidized by the IAM Grand Lodge (international)!

And, also started by someone who, supposedly, has no connection to the IAM, nor an employee at DL.

Hmm, unions riding the coat tails of non-union employees.............imagine that!

Uh, did you not read what Dawg responded to you when you said that earlier?

thats because you are like WT. You see what you want to see. Not anything close to the real world......

Oh no but South remember he was a 20 year member, served on the bankruptcy negotiating (giveaway) committee, attended training at Placid Harbor and even won an award. Did I mention his son's mother still works for USAIR in CLT?

except that dawg's comment was proven wrong once again in the AA/APFA negotiations.

it is simply amazing that virtually everyone on this pro-labor board just glossed past Laura Glading's comment after she went running back to AA mgmt. to get a match on DL's pay raise which made her negotiated pay raise obsolute.

Did you miss it?

she said "I have been chasing DL pay levels my entire career..."

she actually still is chasing DL total compensation because she and her negotiators dramatically underestimated the value of DL's profit sharing or else AA mgmt. was successful in trying to convince her that it wasn't worth much.

Speaking of content, since you have a CBA, how 'bout sharing with some of us some of the things your groups enjoys?

That list's long, but maybe start with some that are universally relatable, like:
  • Scope
  • The bidding/lateral move/displacement process(es).
  • Your sick time accrual vs. other groups.
  • Your ASAP (or whatever it may be called) program, and how it's not punitive in nature, but rather used for continuous improvement.
  • Pro-stan (if you have it?)
  • The grievance process pilots have vs., say, IFS or ACS

Continue to conflate them if you wish, but pay levels & total compensation are two separate items.
of course you want to separate them but the vast majority of DL employees only look at the bottom line figure of income in their bank account at the end of the month.

It is not surprising and quite predictable how you and the union crowd wants to pretend that profit sharing really isn't part of the compensation DL employees at DL even though you have argued so much for WN's labor model in the past even though it is heavily built around profit sharing.

And of course the ultimate hypocrisy is that you have just picked up an extra pay check today due to DL's willingness to share their success with you (and you are absolutely correct that they can do whatever they want - they don't have to share it with you).

I'm not sure why you're implying that most of your former coworkers are ignorant, but they're two separate items. Period.

What hypocrisy? Of course they should share some of the revenue with all of us who help generate it! Doesn't change the fact that "pay" and "total compensation" are two separate things.

He clearly doesnt get it.

Having a union and a CBA is not just about wages and compensation, there is a heck of a lot more in a CBA than just wage rates.

well you have called them "low information" have you not, Kev?

the IAM doesn't get that DL employees are not interested.

The perceived injustices that Kev sees with his scratched "cup 2% full" glasses is not the way the rest of the world sees employment at DL.

Kev is an outlier.

Gee if they arent interested, then why are they signing cards?

And as you have been over eight years,  you dont know what is going on with the rank and file employees who are currently employed by DL, unlike you who took the money and ran.

50% plus 1 are the numbers the NMB needs to see.

The union track record is ZERO and ZERO.

More DL employees are former union members and have happily chosen to not return to it than perhaps any other company in the world. Perhaps you can tell us what other companies have as many ex-union members as DL.

save your dribble.... there is no grassroots campaign. you are the lawn fungus that is being treated with weed-be-gone.

I've grown accustomed to the fact that this board is not interested in facts or anyone who speaks them but rather emotional hysteria and accusations, rather true or not.
Step back from the board, get the facts, stick to what you know, and participate on the forum as a grown up...

...You have positive contributions to make. Dissing others and making patently incorrect statements does nothing to cement your position on this board.
