$11.69 is STARTING pay.

And as of January 1, 2015 the starting pay will be $12.90 for CSAs.

And top of scale will be $23.89.

And operations agents make more.

Dont let the facts get in your way.

Even at $23.89/hour how does that provide a high standard of living? Granted SEA isn't NYC or SF but its a fairly high cost coastal city, certainly compared to DFW or ATL. Explain how they have job security if they are only in a small handful of locations?  What is stopping AS from cutting more? The IAM scope didn't stop the outsourcing at SEA in 2005 of the ramp.

Josh

And why did you leave out pertinent details?

The IAM did win the arbitration and AS was forced to make restitution to the effected workers.

Did they farmout COPS?

NOPE they didnt.

Dont let the facts get in your way.

Last time I checked this is a DL board, not AS.

But AS prevailed. They settled for a relatively small amount of money upfront for major cost savings well into the future. Just like your beloved Airbus Arbitration the union on paper won but really lost as the work never came back. And AS outsourced the work in August 2005 and the settlement wasn't until 2008, pretty pathetic no matter how you look at it. The IAM lost.

Josh

Are you truly that ignorant?

The IAM WON the arbitration.

The workers were compensated for CBA violation.

The only pathetic thing on here is you.

It wasnt a settlement, the IAM won an arbitration case on the matter.

Neither AS nor the IAM controls the arbitration process.

Per our contract, our top scale is 24 plus an hr, 5th week vac for 25 yrs complete sick time improved, scope enhanced big time with the min ml jet 1 time a day 7 a week picking up more of aa work

On paper the IAM won but AS prevailed, they are achieving significant cost savings using Menzies over the IAM employees. So yes the union won but really lost. Small payout but by the time they reached the settlement most had moved on to other jobs.

Josh

Yes 700 but sadly those facts he wont see or just flies over it. I look at it as a win win situation

Robbed how did the IAM and the workers win? AS got to keep Menzies in place and the IAM did not get them their jobs back. AS paid a small amount of money and gets to enjoy long term cost savings using a Menzies instead of mainline IAM.

Josh

Josh at US its a win all u got to do is look at our contract compare it to ua ha and our n 08 n 05. If DL gets union our contract they cld look at and build up from it

This is the key to why the IAM is failing so hard.

No scope.

But focusing on RRs, that sorry ass pension and insurance.

ugh. Hey IAM. Why don't you point out how many stations Delta would have to have as mainline on the ramp under the old NWA contract. Thats a starting point. (or point out that you'll sell out the workers ala United. which ever)

AA and UA have just as great of an ability to do what DL is doing but they don't.

Thats not true at all. UA and AA are not insourcing as much but they do it.

and AA + TASEL is pretty big FWIW
