IAM CLAIM
Delta's sick time is a fraction of other airlines', including ExpressJet, pre-merger United, pre-merger Continental, American, and Southwest.

FACT
The IAM is trying to mislead you again. The truth is Delta’s PPT is very competitive and flexible compared to that of flight attendants within our competitive set.
Here are the facts:
• Flight attendants can earn a maximum of 49 hours of PPT a year. They can use PPT for any reason, not just for personal illness, and can choose to receive a cash payout of unused PPT. The average PPT payout for flight attendants in 2014 was $1,439.
• Flight attendants can also choose to rollover up to 147 hours of unused PPT. Once the max is reached, they can choose to rollover unused PPT to build Certified Time Banks up to 150 days for 100% pay protection on full-time absences lasting more than 7 days.
• Flight attendants can elect to roll one week of vacation into their PPT bank.

Just like profit sharing and DL's industry-leading number of above/below cabin crew rest, DL's PPT program doesn't fit in union narrative so they simply lie and distort to try and make their program look better.

baba,
do you have a rough idea of your coworkers end up with EXTRA time off because of DL's PPT program above what they use for sick time?

Okay, so what exactly does the phrase "competitive and flexible" mean? What specific accruals do other carriers get?

Can OAL F/As not roll their accrued sick time over? How 'bout their vacation? OJI time (remember, that's one we don't get at all)?

Linguistics are fun, but real comparisons often tell a different story.

they use it for being sick, Kevin.

some people have the scruples to not call in sick if they are not.

for them, the PPT option allows them to get paid and not be sick.

Those are answers to questions I didn't ask.

Do you happen to know the accrual rates at other carriers? How 'bout whether or not rollovers are possible?

You're a fan of data sets; this should be right up your alley...

I only discuss with close friends and it seems
mixed.  Some have gotten paid for unused some roll it over.
me and a few others use it as pre-plots when we can. it helps when schedule values are high.  just mixed.

rolling over SICK time is not uncommon.

Sick time and PPT programs are different animals.

For those who choose not to call in sick when they are not and who are sick for less than the amount of PPT they receive, DL's program provides more time off.

that is not a competitive comparison because they are different types of programs.

and baba, as you know the PPT program is not new.... and there have been many people who have benefitted with extra pay or an increased bank which can still be used for personal use, not just sick time.

even sick time which is rolled over at other airlines is still just sick time.

Are DL FAs and ACS have sick banks?

When I left US I had 800 sick hours and could bank up to 1,500 hours works great if you have a major accident or get very sick.

Baba--

That sounds similar to my experience.

Just curious; can't you (as in you specifically) just bid a lower value line? Or even fly low(er) time?

competitive and flexible  is simple.  We are not locked in with a contract when they changed it for the better.

Why don't you ever question 700's charts and graphs?

Get that sixth week back?
we can
I know we have a much better chance WITHOUT the IAM.
I can only imagine what we would have to GIVE UP to get the 6th week.
WE are doing well with the threat lol...
just look what happened AFTER  each of our NO votes. 🙂
