IAM Fleet Service thread 7/13-7/20

The grievance procedure is yet another lost cause.
You win a grievance because you were not awarded
OT properly when you wanted to work and the only
way to get your pay is to work the hours in a two week
period or lose out. First its' tough enough to win the
grievance and then once you proved them wrong your
reward is work the hours.....another bad agreement.

Accountability is lost. In PHL you can be bypassed for
OT and the clerks make sure thier friends get all the
cushy OT while feeding the harder shifts to others. Thier
friends do not accrue the proper hours and although
addressed many times, no changes. This is harder
knowing the top steward has ''friends'' and his OT is
never questioned along with a few others.

PHL screwed up alittle last local election and this needs
to be fixed. They need a better leadership on property.
The local says you must attend a certain % of meetings
to be eligible to run yet this % was overlooked when TA
ran and now ensures only certain individuals may be
nominated. Basically the same old same old.

**another thing West voted out, thier paid grievances**

Guys I need help.
Does anybody have a link to the old contract that the east signed way back when. Looked online and can't find in IAM site.

Thanks in advance

nec,

Under the IAM bylaws , it states you will nominate and vote on stewards per shift.

So... It's time for some folks in LAS to step up on 2nd shift and run for shop stewards.

LAS is going to be going thru some hard times, and we need a stronger Union presence on the field.

Hear yahh “Oâ€￾…

Be ahh part of tha solution and not tha problem ! Bein’ ahh Steward is your first step to becoming a true Unionist! We fight for workers rights under the existing CBA… period…

well i hear the vote is over and it has been signed off from the GL. All ND08 won. Apparently the District and GL have stated that if the numbers get out there will be a revote/rerun.

Can someone from LAS help with this? There is a rumor floating around that LAS fleet has been told that west rampers with less than 3 years will be furloughed and east rampers with less than 1 year will be furloughed --- basically treating east and west fleet as two seperate entities. Is there and validity to this rumor?

There had been speculation at our station that the OEI in the TA would be used to trim former AWA rampers as we had lost our ramp service contract with another airline (their company decided to make CSRs work ramp 😱 ) and a LAS flight will be cut. Most west fleet here have high seniority. The east has many people with only a few years service.

Any word from other stations with east/west ramp?

typical of the current ( and soon to be ex)regime keep the membership in the dark

Who cares anyway. canoli and crew got their arses kicked. We all will know the numbers soon enough. Bye bye to managements boy. And again congrats to all of ND08, and thank you to all who voted to take this union back!

Roa,
it warms my heart to have you have my back again. It's been lonely on here without my wing man

now. get the lephrichan off my back. and rat is correct . drinks a plenty on the bird.

pj
is that the GL's way of letting the great Arse bow out gracefully.

There is no "gracefully" with canoli. His ego gets in the way. Heck, he probably is still wondering "why" and "how". Don't we know who he is. Please, we know, that's why we said, "NAH NAH NAH NAH....NAH NAH NAH NAH....HEY HEY HEY......GOOOOOOOOOOODBYE"

So what are the odds again on canoli actually showing up for "Christmas in October"

heres the problem in LAS, since OEI hasnt taken place yet and the majority of the flts are west flts west employees will be cut however it may be intereseting when OEI comes around in Nov and some west Employees may be recalled and some east employees be laid off. Basically PT ramp with a date of somewhere around 10/04 and FT aroun 11/07 are the dates of furlough. I dont know what station your in but if their are furloughs for the west and none for the east it may be reversed come NOV.
