Just thought I'd share some thoughts on the election coming up. Us "westies" have been told in the past that it doesn't matter how we vote, because CLT and PHL rule. Well that didn't hold true with the TA. We joined together and our voice was heard. I believe that will happen with the district election also. CLT and PHL are old, bitter, employees and will buck the system any time they can. They consistently screw themselves. They have a hand full of members who post defamatory information here every day. Should we, "westies" buy into this slander that is posted by these bitter old "east" guys? I think not. We have one man we trust, Ron Roth, from PHX. Ron has worked with the district guys for two years now. Ron has the insight we don't, to know who has our best interest in mind. He has joined the ticket of current district officers. I trust Ron to lead us in the right direction. Together they have negotiated a contract in this crappy economic state that has put more money in our pocket. Keep in mind while they did this, other airlines are filing bankruptcy, going out of business, and asking for pay concessions. I say we keep the guys who have brought us this far. I say we listen to Ron, follow his lead, and show those crusty guys in CLT and PHL who really rules our airline!

I don't mean to rain on your parade, oncearound, but ORD is the size of PHL, CLT, LAS, PHX all put together. It has 4,500 voters and about 1/4 of the membership of the entire District, and even though Boss Canale has a payroll of over $1 million [9 full time staffers] in ORD, he will feel 'great pain' here in ORD. We had over 50 photos of at least 15 workers in each photo showing their support in front of our banner for the new direction. We could have got much much more.

Canale tried to do a support picture in a Chicago breakroom by hiring some TSA part-timer to take some photos with some Canale banner, but so far they can't get anyone to hold up their banner here in ORD. I'd personally like to see him get a photo in Chicago so we can see who actually supports him from the ORD UA ramp.

Canale himself came into the ORD breakroom [introduced himself as the United Board of Director] and almost incited a riot until he finally was shown the door. In short, we don't like him here in ORD. This is chicago, not phx....we operate different. Thankfully, the Local 1487 officers [AG, JB]showed up and established control over the situation [Trust me, Canale was very lucky they showed] and settled down the masses as they were growing loud and restless.

At any rate, the greater the participation in a union, the stronger the union, so go out and vote for whoever you think will serve you the best in the future.

Chicago is Delaney's. Bottom line. This I know 100%.

Again the thoughts of some (oncearound) do not point out the facts. Your
so called voice was manipulated in not having a fair and equal way to cast
a vote for all. You got your TA and you see nothing wrong with the fact your other
brothers and sisters voices were not given the same opportunity. I am not bitter
but I am not disillusioned either. United is the ''big dog'' during this vote and the
old saying,''the tail doesn't wag the dog'' applies. If United wants Canale gone,
he's gone. I intend to vote him out as a US agent but am not at all under the belief
that the US vote is the deciding factor but will show the contempt felt by all sides
towards RC and his band of thieves. This is a step in the right direction and I'd like
to thank the fleet from United for leading the way.

Delaney is such a people person. He isn't even the President and Directing Chair, yet, it is he who comes to visit CLT and PHL. WHen was the last time Canale showed respect and visited a PHL or CLT breakroom???? Heck, check out Canale's video and he is so arrogant that he doesn't even take the undivided time to address fleet service, as people are walking behind him in the video. You would think he would have been professional enough to do the video in his office as opposed to the back lobby of the comfort Inn. Canale can't carry Delaney's jockstrap and he should have retired so he could at least get his 'iam watch'. Now he will suffer 'great pain' as we will enjoy kicking him back up to the board of directors where he belongs.

I plan on going to the District Convention and snapping a photo of the very enjoyable time when Canale has to finally hand over the 'green jacket' to Delaney. We are coming for him.....soon enough.

lenzis' response to the new direction team in a letter was for personal and family reasons. He also stated he was going back to school and felt he couldnt give the membership 100%.

As for RR, all he wants is to be OFFLINE plain an simple. He doesnt want to work the ramp any more. However RR is in and nothing can be done about that. He told Canale that he was only interested if he could be off-line, hes retired and doesnt want to work FT anymore. How many times has Randy been in PHX and not come to the ramp, let me tell you everytime except, what? last week!!! Out of all the times they negotiated in PHX he never came to the ramp. Hes been to Vegas twice on the ramp once. The first time he came to vegas, was during nominations and he lost his nomination, the second time was just after the contract was ratified, he got hammered in the breakroom with questions regarding the contract and half of the questions he didnt have answers to. He said he would have to ask his AGCs. He also said after our monthly mtg that he didnt know the west contract very well...OMG..and he was negotiating for us. You people in PHX may not be harmed from the smaller stations for 3 yrs, but vegas may come this summer or winter, and bump you out of a job, watch out!!! Randy is out of touch with his employees, our current AGC nate gushi had to be shown how to write a grievance from the old TWU regime.

Just so everyone knows, Randy told LAS ramp in the breakroom that since we earn our vacation this yr for next yr we should all be receiving double the vacation next yr, so if your a west guy and currently get 3 weeks next yr youll receive 6 weeks. I hope he didnt mis speak, lots of people were in the breakroom when he said this.

Mgmt has put the kabosh on running people during work hours, however our vote in LAS will be from 6am-7pm on thurs the 5th.

However . He hasn't figured out that with todays technology , what he tells one group it is made available to all.
