Well brothers , what’s done is done …

I understand how a lot of you in the NO vote feel , there’s anger , there’s pain … some of you almost WANT to see us get shoved out the door , and I understand these emotions , because we’re all human .

I don’t count this as a win for our union , merely the lesser of two evils .. I honestly believe that the US economy will continue it’s downward spiral and that by DEC 31st 2009 , we would have been in a worse spot …. I also continue to believe that had we lost this vote , there would still have been furloughs … and make no mistake there will STILL be furloughs …. In this merger to shrink capacity there’s going to be a lot of pain , of that I have no doubt , we can only hope and pray that the magnitude of that pain isn’t too much for us to bear .

I’d like to apologize to those of you that I offended in my quest to help ensure a Yes outcome .For many of us, too much was at stake to not fight with everything we had .

I’d also like to thank everyone who participated in this vote , be you yes or no …. Our strength derives from each and every member who cast a ballot , THIS is where OUR power comes from, each and everyone one of you IS the union , and together we can accomplish anything .

Don’t let that flame go out inside of you ,keep it alive , keep it burning , do not grow complacent , there will be more battles ahead .

But for now , rest .

Yours in solidarity

Freedom .

I bet Canoli and parker are both looking at each other saying...

"You mean they actually bought it? hahaha"

As one of the minority NO voters, I congratulate the Yes voters. I too can use the money as I am in a Class II city. I hope this works out for all of us. I am just really glad to be at ORD if/when this merger goes through. I'll be able to spin around in the big chair for a while...

Now is the time for us to pull together and be ready for whatever Parker and Canoli throw at us next. I am just glad that we have the opprotunity to get rid of Canoli next month. That action of voting him and his cronies out will remove one monkey off of our backs. Lets all get under that Solidarity Umbrella and can his a$$!!!!!!

Dear brother Freedom
No pain or anger here and I don't want to see anyone get shoved out the door. You fought hard for what you believed in and for that you should be praised. Its time to bury the hatchet. Figuratively not literally. How do you feel about coming to NC for a pig pickin'? Bring your friend Jester we will have a good time. Just be prepared to run if you hear banjo music. LOL

I applaud everyone in here for the work and compassion that you have all done. For the majority of everyone, you all have gone above and beyond to help your brothers and sisters in these difficult times. Regardless of your side, yes or no, most acted unselfishly and spoke out for what they believed what was best for ALL. For this, I applaud you. We should all be proud to work unmongst such dedicated professionals.

Now that this chapter has ended, it is time for us to truely unite. The outcome of the vote is what it is and its over let's not let it get between us. On both sides of the fence, with either outcome, we all knew that no matter what, some people were going to be bitter. There is always someone waiting in line hoping for that day to say, "I told you so." for both sides,"I told you so, and I wish I had" aren't helpful to anyone. Will anyone really feel good when a job is lost and you get your turn to say one of those things .

Why don't we focus our efforts elsewhere and prepare ourselves for the future and not dwell on the past.

I too want to say I hope we can all move forward together and become stronger in our quest for better agreements ahead.
I for one dont think if this merger comes into play that it will be as bad as some here think as far as layoffs. Yes of course there will be some I still think that buyouts will be offered.
From what I have seen Parker is not big on laying off people, so time will tell.
I wish more would have voted as well because we should all exercise our right.
Im just waitng for the official results myself.

Some have to go that others can eat better.
Some are zealous and ask for forgiveness after the deed is done.
I wish you well.

Im willing to say that if a UA and US merger does happen, a ton of cities will shut down affecting many employees--id say west be hard hit thanks to the new POS garbage. dont need to hear them whinning and crying about job losses because they voted this garbage in
Robbed,

How did you vote???
That's right, the Class I cities that voted that last POS in, also voted you out of a job, Correct???
Wasnt ABE farmed out after the Class I cities voted the last contract?

Hey Roa, O-man, Joe D...

Couple o' us Cali "NO" voters want in on the BBQ... glad to make the cross country trek.

In regards to the vote, no bitterness, a bit surprised that's all. More relieved that it is over than anything.

Seems I'll need to educate myself on the PE-66 thing here soon. I guess you all do your transfers a little different. One question... any restrictions on how often one can transfer? We have a rule in place in the West that limits transfers to ONCE in a year's time. I know from having worked in 4 different AWA cities on the ramp. Looks like its time to set my sights elsewhere, again, as my station will be a ghost town....
