IAM Fleet Service topic

Someone told me we have two AGCs here in PHX Roth (does nothing) and Mike Crowell.... Ive never met nor do i think ever seen or heard of him. who is he, and how come nothing is being done here, they say mike crowell is from CLT, so CLT people do you have to read and sign this, and if not why is Mike Crowell letting this happen to us here?

Have you considered that, just perhaps, Mr. Crowell has been told that his help was not needed? Just saying...
 
i heard the grievance committee did pretty good this week at step 3s in PHX can anyone confirm???
 
i need interaction where is everyone???. PHX management continues to rule with iron fists.... safety first, out east we only put 3 bags on the belt at a time for safety precautions, can we make sure PHX follows this safety policy? thunderstorms are due to hit PHX in april do we have lightning strike indicators in place so when lightning hits within 5 miles we clear the ramp for safety precautions?? Does anyone know Tony Dalisio, the IAm safety rep?? we need him to brief us on these issues.

that doesn't sound very safe to me ...lets knock that number down to one bag at a time ...

also seeing as you've never been out here during the rainy season i guess no one told you about billy ...we lost him about two years ago to a lighting strike on the ramp ...that was really tragic , he was good friend of mine ..not much has been done in the way of safety during thunderstorms which i just don't even understand ...so basicly what usually ends up happening is if you see a storm coming , you fight , fight like mad to make sure your the one working in the bin and not standing out there next to the belt loader loading the bags... it will proably take a few more billy's before mangment even notices ...
 
when lighting is within so much close distance to the airport you do not go out to work a flight. in fact that is a policy.

Yep, been through it many times in Phoenix. If there is a lightning strike within a certain distance, tower calls out that the ramp is closed and everyone has to go inside. In order for the ramp to open again, there can't be any strikes for a specified amount of time. This has been the policy for at least 5 years.
 
Contracts talks coming to fleet service anytime soon?
Who is going this time ?
will they know what to asks for?
 
I dont know who's going but I do know from the AGC in PHL that the talks are supposenly to commence in June or July. Lets see how long the talks take. I would like to see improved sick, scope/language, better pay, profit sharing, etc

Is there any thought or talks about bringing back the Crew Chiefs?????? I think this would alleviate alot of the animosty between management and our union brothers and sisters...It would also create more jobs. Just a thought
 
George Austin is CC. Also to respond to Chief question: There are signs posted on walls about a shop steward election that was supposed to take place last month. Im being told that they are now being appointed because the election never happened! I really don't know if the signs are real because no one is taking credit for the signs because they did not use the spell check that comes with every computer now a days!
 
Talked to friend in PHL today. He said it's getting bad on the ramp. Management is doing whatever they want. 3 man teams on 321 a/c and moving agents from dom. ramp to int'l ramp in the middle of their shift, then back. If you take a minute delay you get written up even if your working short. It's starting to sound like a east coast PHX! I can't believe the CC in PHL would put up with this. I always thought philly was strong!!!
