P.S. I ain't got no use for cartoons or cartoonist. They only serve to distract viewers from the real issues!

There were press releases and a mass e-mail sent out, sign up for Imail and you will receive updates. It was all over the web.

I agree with 700UW... It was everywhere. Mainstream media, Google alerts, Facebook; the list goes on and on.

Don't wait for the local leadership to tell you what's going on. You owe it to yourself to be aware of what's happening in the industry.

The Leaders are not doing a very good job at Leading.... I am not feeling the worth of my $27.46 per check deduction for union dues. Some active Fleet stations are being treated like GhostTowns. You think mgmt. would pull the crap they do, if this was a STRONG union like that of Longshoremen or Railroad... hmmm, just thinking.

The grievance process needs to be more expedious and efficient! Even the USPS works more efficiently that our grievance process. It should NOT take months to get to the bottom of a complaint! Either it was right or wrong. Black and White, fifty-fifty... heads/tails.... not "well, we'll send it further under the rug to be swept away into a pile that is already 3 feet tall."

Bagchucker,

In fairness, I know that if not for the $27.46, I would not be paid the $16+/hour presently, and more likely to be topped-out at $12/hour within a non-union contractor. Then I would need to worry about Management thinking of me being 'overpaid' and fired for some silly reason without appeal or recourse, as a new hire would start around $9/hour.

Beyond that, I agree with you. Bittersweet to think that our dues went to have Airtran under the IAM umbrella, but yet, a good number of arbitrations from a few years ago are still unresolved, not to mention, the dreaded attendance policy is still getting US ramp agents fired.

So Concurs Jester.

If the consolation prize of a top out pay of $20.17 per hour is the best reward we get for being part of this union, then I suppose I will settle for that, and that alone. It comes at the price of $54.92 per month in union dues. Funny thing is... mgmt. continues to "bully"... i.e. attendance policy. IT IS ABSURD, INSULTING, INANE, ANAL, DEGRADING.... and about 100 other negative adjectives. We get an attendance policy that is structured for people in a reform school, really? You can see how this particular topic strikes a real chord in me. I HAVE NEVER seen a corporate attendance policy set up like this, anywhere. IT NEEDS TO GO.

Union needs to grow a set... and let the company know that this policy is not acceptable for its membership!

I wish someone would ask Doug about the attendance policy at the upcoming 1st qtr earnings town hall.

That is a very vaild point. People should put him on the spot regarding the policy and how terrible it is.

Strange phenonmenon is occuring because of this policy. People have found the learning curve and getting their doctors' to fill out FMLA for trivial stuff, ergo, any time you need time off, charge it to FMLA, no points rack up on your attendance.

Canale must be to blame for all of lack of representation the ND would not stand for the company treating us in this degrading manner! Go ND get our industry leading contract!

can anyone give an update on the Chairmans Convention , will Prez be giving a report in the form of briefing the membership in the breakrooms or will
there be a report given at the next union meeting. I feel that since our dues pays for this type of stuff we should be entitled to a report of what was discussed and whats going on

hahaha, i will believe it when i see it.... leading industry contracts just let me know when and where
