IAM Fleet Service topic

Not a HP rule. That's a lazy management rule. In LAS for HP the rampers set up the gate because the lead was planning the flight. Post merger I think that mentality has stuck to some extent, and widened in other cases to one of camaraderie post furlough. There's no excuse for the rampers to not be involved in setting up the gate. In fact, I think the GOM specifies that ALL of the crew is to be there 10 minutes prior.
I believe you are right. Ten minutes prior and a F.O.D. walk. Plus the key to it all is TEAM work.

Famous quotes

" I HAVE SEEN THE ENEMY, AND HE IS US"

Enough said

And so it continues... lack of leadership, lack of direction, lack of sincere representation, division and apathy among the members. This must change before we can expect to go forward. Hopefully, we will find a team of leadership, among the candidates who can start to bring this membership together. Members will become actively engaged in the election process and make informed decisions. Until this is accomplished I agree "I have seen the enemy, and he is us."

Have there been any sightings of mia mike crowell? And if so, where? Inquiring minds want to know.

Nothing to report. My station has an APB out for about 4 years as well. Great representation... How did we vote him in?

So, there was another reduction of force that occurred on March 30, 2012. Strange how the Company makes no mention of it through the normal channels, but it is mentioned on the IAM website. Several cities were affected, but there were no station closures this time. While the brief memo does not list how many agents are affected, I think we are talking around 100-120 at the following stations: PIT, EWR, MCO, TPA, PBI, LAS, and SFO. Does anyone in contact with any folks at these stations know which cities have been offered to the affected employees as displacement choices? We are constantly reminded of just how much this Company holds our work group in disregard and of how little support we get from our Union. It is a SHAME!

bagchucker, it was 145 or so FSA that are losing their jobs as far as I know it doesnt take effect til jun 4 but still youre absolutely right that this whole darn thing is a shame and the fact this company doesnt value their employees they disregard our contract in every way shape and form. yet where the he!! is the IAM when we need them???

Till 4Jun or whenever they lock you out.

thats true remember the tpa lockout i also believe buf too what a shame this outfit with its conies at the top

The TPA issue was the maintenance hangar, and they shut it down overnight, but US lost in court as they violated the WARN Act and had to give all employed in the hangar 60 days additional pay.

Had nothing to do with fleet.

They're talking about the company locking people out before their furlough date. I'm not familiar with the TPA situation, but it does in fact sound pretty relevant. Just because it wasn't fleet doesn't mean it's irrelevant.

while its true that TPA hangar lockout was strictly maintaince I was trying to point out the fact that the company will do whatever it pleases, even violating contracts, dont give a rats about their own employees lock them out etc yet i guarantee you this much if it were them being effected they would give a dam

I'm betting the Fleet members in BUF would have appreciated 60 days additional pay instead of the weak LOU signed by Delaney. They should have been given at least their choice on how the union should proceed.
