jester,
it is unfortunate for you and alot of junior east and west employees that you never worked under a management group

that actually gave a s**T about running a Profitable and GOOD airline one that you were proud to walk into a store after your shift

in uniform one that you would step up for and go the extra mile to get things done. Well my friend for alot of folks on this board this

was the type of airline or airlines we used to work for . For us slack a** east employees unfortunately we have had not 1 but 3

different management groups in the last 10 yrs. that had NO interest in the employees or interest in running and maintaining a profitable

airline. It's been get in make your millions and get out. Well Doug Parker is nothing more than that. He has no interest in Running

this airline like an airline . It shows in all the DOT cat. it began in Sep 05 and has gone downhill ever since. Doug is a numbers guy

and a pretty good one at that . But that's it . You refer to WN and there culture . Well that takes me back to the beginning of this post

that management wants and is willing to RUN and MAINTAIN a GOOD and PROFITABLE airline. BUT NOT AT THE EMPLOYEES EXPENSE..

Get financially raped over a couple times and you will see why there is so much resentment .

F/T Fleet Service, 10 good years and 9 bad ones = 19 years total. The 9 being under the I'll Ask Management's thumb.

My guess would be that you are old Piedmont. You know how I feel. I am PSA. Some of us are America West. I read the history of HP today and what a

great airline in its own right. However we are now US. Alot of people think we should settle for less than each entity has given up. That is just not

possible in my eyes. Some are looking out for their best interests and that is human nature. If we stick together than we can maybe change things a little at

a time. This week is big, make no mistake about it. Thats why our solidarity will be tested and our negotiators will show who they are when they sign their

names on a sheet of paper that means so much to this industry.

mike33,
We will see just how much our so called negotiators think of us soon enough. Unfortunatly that is very little. All they are worried about is kissing canoli's and dougweisers ring to keep their $100,000 club membership. Soon enough they will know just what we think of them. Their days are numbered.

Parker's boy and his district slate will experience 'great pain' in February. This past week, some more on his slate have looked up at the scoreboard and realized their ticket is 'doomed' and have contacted the 'right people' with key information. IMO, his ticket will completely fall apart by June and I anticipate only him, Payne, KA, RE, and 'most' of the current US East AGC's to remain as 'active' campaigners for him, the rest will be 'sleeping cells' against him trying to protect their own hide. These things will all be revealed to Parker's boy....'soon enough.'

The opposing slate will be announced by Friday.

Tim Nelson

O-man,

Your comments remind me of a college friend who figured she needed a nose job because of its pronounced size for a woman. She had it done, but only then to realize removing an ounce of cartilage was neither going make her thin or tall and not even give her a pretty face. Same thing here... getting a $25/hour or more base wage won't change that management will continue to run the airline not as you desire in terms of service, nor restore your pride, nor give you the culture that you want. You'll have your rhinoplasty and still be a short, chunky dame with a face like a gent and still not possess a lot of self-esteem. So let's not obfuscate the difference between cash and culture, because even with a new generous contract will not change Parker as the company head.

And Tim,

I have a confession... I don't know what is an "AGC" exactly or even a "KA" although I think the later being a person. If I am suppose to be "KA" then someone please call the State Wage Board because I haven't earned anything remotely close to six-figures as it relates to my work with US Airways, unless you count the two digits to the right of the decimal point. As I said before, I am a nobody within either the US Airways company or the IAM (which is what I prefer).

So proclaims Jester.

Jester,
After reviewing your post and combined with phsyc education that I have had in the past,
I would diagnose you as a depressant with very low self esteem. You have constantly stated what your not worth and what you shouldn't have and expressed no desire to improve your life. Where ever
you are, I would reccomend you seek out an EAP Rep. and get help. The stress of this company
along with message boards, you could possilbley slip over the edge and not be able to return.

Don't worry I have no self-esteem issues here. The real reason I am a "nobody" here is because I am too busy making real money away from the Company, and as I said, that's the way I want it. Lose the airline gig tomorrow, no big deal... I still am making plenty of money, still have a great wife, and it might actually free me up from the nonsense of the so-called "managers" in this organization. If anything my opinion screams "ego" for which I have no shame or apologies. Save the EAP advice for the West rampers struggling full-time at $9/hour while trying to raise a family or do something productive and kick IAM's butt to get them a raise!

I believe in a competitive economic world and frankly, I know my worth as a low-skilled, low-educationally required ramp agent. Doctor, heal thyself, and take your own advice and get a reality check.

So Hippocratic Suggest Jester.

Fleet Service 29 years, with the last 2 1/2 being spent on furlough. I can only hope that someone else besides Tim cares enough about those of us on furlough to see that we get a fair deal with the 60 day crap eliminated for ALL, when and IF a new T/A is reached before our recall expires. We only want the same fair recall rights that EVERY workgroup on the propery got, besides Fleet Svc. Before someone else chimes in with the same old line of "You voted it in", let's not forget that those who voted it in knew that it wouldn't effect them...only their fellow dues paying Union Brothers.............

Listen to you.... "I believe in a competitive world bla bla bla..." You would be singing a different tune if this was your primary source of income. So you're making money on the side, and you don't give a damn about the rest of us? You're willing to sell the rest of us down the road? You suck dude. I bet you don't even make money on the side, I bet you live with your parents basement so the money you make now is enough. You talk a great game, thats about all I've seen out of you thus far.

You are the HYPOcrite my friend. I go to school, and that is the higher priority in my life, but when I come to work, it's all for one, and one for all. I would never sell out my brothers like you have. You need to smarten up man. Just because you think you're a genius, doesn't make you one bro.

Chill...

Wings

This is the kind of crap that ur NG puts out on a summary

Old Language. " Employees on involuntary furlough for 60 days or more shall forfeit all pay date seniority. "
New Language " 60 day rule eliminated. " (implies just that "eliminated" with no details hoping u won't notice the "Final" )

This is the Final Language:

" 7. Article 7 (Seniority) Integrated Seniority list will apply to all Employees no later than (OEI).
The CBA will be amended as follows:
" • Effective on date of ratification the 60 day rule will be eliminated for any furloughs that
occur after that date. "

Is this the kind of BS language that we pay dues for. You don't even have to read between the lines. Its black and white that USairways wants seniority out and the IAM accepted this. It doesn't take any balls at all to sit across the table and say " this is too blatant."

AGC'S if ur reading this board than this would be a good place to start in this TA
Unless it's already signed.........

I was thrilled when I first read the new T/A, only to be totally discussted once I saw the final wording. As I have said before, how many on furlough would come back if given the opportunity today? Perhaps 1/2, which is doubt would break the companies bank account. Instead they continue to prefer "Revolving Door" theory which eats up thousands of man hours in paperwork and training.

Chill,

Working for America West ramp almost demands people to have second jobs or sources of income in order to afford sticking around. Let's keep in mind that it wasn't that long ago pay was only $7.50/hour for new hires. The system filtered through tens of thousands of people over the decades that it is top-heavy with people like me. Consider it a "natural selection" of an economic environment that created this situation.

You can sing whatever "tune" you want, but here's a reality check... in this current environment, the glory days of $23/hour ramp agents are over, at least, in this organization. Until or unless management can wring greater productivity from its employee group will it only be able to justify pay anything close to that level. Of course, that would mean Southwest pay, and yes, Southwest work loads... and how many could handle that given the whining of having to load the front of B737-300 by themselves? I hold management and the union responsible for their inability to increase productivity. There is too much standing around (staffing and scheduling issues) and too much protection of lazy workers (union policies), and until both of these things are fixed, no real productivity increases will come unless management is will to spend some serious money on capital equipment. Basic economics and something for which if one is going to speak informatively on the subject, one should understand.

As for my household living arrangements, I live in a desert, we typically don't have basements.

So Lectures Jester.

Southwest has it's own culture - homegrown....they grew and built on that culture. US Airways is a melting pot of everything from new hires that are happy to have a job to graybeards bellyaching about what they are entitled to due to 2 BKs and past CBA's. These T/A's won't mean a thing as long as we are divided...we will all be tested, but even if we get the contract we ask for will we ever really be the same? HP, US, PSA, Piedmont, Allegeny....does it matter? We should be one if we are ever going to succeed in this business.
