Jester's opinion is biased on his bigotry, as Pit...to death rightfully points out. As far as WN goes, they have the same ramp problems as all other airlines, listen to jester's opinion then compare that with these facts of 'Southwest delays' just during January:Jester,
Then why do you flip-flop about parity for the west, the state the we should take what we can get, management won't budge, yada yada yada. It's the I'll Ask Management that won't budge for Fleet Service, but the will lay down for management, take all the concessions that that the company wants from us, and get us barely anything in return. We are clearly upset at the company/I'll Ask Management for this. And you seem to agree with them, them being the company/I'll Ask Management about what we are entitled to. And yes we are entitled to these things. All we are asking for to start with is an industry standard wage, and some decent scope language. But only if we do not have to "pay" for those changes.
1, 17 minute delay...pax waiting on strollers from jetway
2. 31 minute delay. Ramp sup got injured and held off loading
3. 31 minutes, short staffed
4. 41 minutes, waiting for ramp to finish loading
5. 172 minute delay, no rampers working flight, could not find bags, Captain and "C" flight attendent and Cockpit rider found bags and loaded flight.
6. 68 minutes...short on ramp staff, pilots had to load flight
7. 54 minutes...ramp short
8. 20 minutes,...ramp short
9. 40 minutes...ramp short
....and many more delays [triva: these can be found on the internet]
Sounds worse than US AIRWAYS actually but these were all in one station for Southwest a couple weeks ago. Jester is 100% incorrect. It isn't that US AIRWAYS workers are lazy, nor is it about how old US AIRWAYS workers are. Southwest has the same problems and last I heard human beings work at southwest also. Bottom line is that one airline treats those human beings better than the other, and as in any relationship....if there is no respect or care then bad things happen.
Here is a quote that I think fits the picture,
"Unlike Soutwest...other airlines have undergone restructuring and/or bankruptcy, due in part to poor productivity, bad business decisions, and corporate greed. Worst of all, many airline employees no longer care about their customers, shareholders, or airline."
It's all about relationship. Bottom line. There is a 'separation' between company and employee on US AIRWAYS property. It may be that it is already a 'full blown divorce' but the only way to reconcile a business relationship is to show respect and care in the only form known to business.....$. Money talks. Until then, as Arnold sez, "Consider this a divorce....and screw Transition....screw it now.
The network will be in full strength and will not allow Parker to take his transition agreement from fleet service with another 'piss clam' TA. Workers will be mobilized to get out a big NO vote and unity must continue. Solidarity is a must because corporate greed and Union inadequacies are coming around the corner again.
As aside, the opposition ticket to get rid of Canale and kick him back to management where he belongs, will be revealed 'soon enough'.
