common ground. excellent! growth is never accomplished from uneven foundations...That's great......hopefully the optimism will be contagious. And as far as my reference to "he"....that is just a generic reference and NOTHING else.
That's a great way to put it.......fragmented identities!! I agree. That pretty much sums it all up. There are and always will be different cultures and different attitudes and differing ideas........hopefully those differences can be combined to make this new airline great.
IMO, I don't believe that a WN mentality and service levels are anyone's intentions.......although WN does have some good ideas but definitley not on the service side of things. The new airline has to come to a happy medium for all involved and with the input of the passengers and the employees, it just MIGHT happen. DP and his gang WILL listen. And I don't know of any other merger that has appointed Cultural Integration people. Good move? We'll see.
with respect to cultural integration appointments: this is respectable, but (and a BIG but), the appointment is a former america west employee, is it not? while i don't need to refer you all to max weber, emminent sociologist, there needs to be representation from both sides in that department or nothing gets integrated. i applied for a position in that department and recieved the "thanks, but no thanks" form letter. and dougie and i went to the same graduate school 🙁
anyway, my point remains: there can be no real integration without voices from both sides. otherwise, it is a lot of symbolism, but ultimately wasted payroll.
You're new around here aren't you?
