They went as far as April of 2001 which is one class shy of mine to fill the vacancies. My friend bid for BOS and he was # 60, with still another class after ours.

Was told 40 recalls were not needed to BOS but after the 39 changed their minds last time, Tempe decided if 15 didn't show up, they'd still have the staff needed in BOS.

Shows there still are people, even that have been gone this long that wish to return. So much for reaching the bottom of the list!

If I were to accept recall, BOS would be my first choice.

Just out of curiosity though, where are folks who accept recall to BOS and who don't currently live in the area choosing to live in New England???

The "new" FO payrates make finding affordable housing challenging in that part of the country. Granted, i've only been using Realtor.com and Zillow.com to look.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

So they're still working their way back up the list and have hit April 99? Only 3 months away... wonder if they'll reach me in this bid and who will be the last (junior) man standing when they run the next bid.

How many will that leave on the list? What was the last class US Airways had (date wise?)

I also heard that they are gearing up for outside hiring. Any truth to that rumor?

I think he's talking Flight Attendants. I have received no poop letter at 7/99 DOH.

I think the last class hired was 06/2001.

I heard the same rumor about off the street hiring.

As far as living in Boston while on reserve?

As close to the airport as possible as F/A's have a rather short call out.

Affordability? Bite the bullet and forget about it unless you want to live with a bunch of other f/a's.

This is the time to insist on a livable wage for our lowest paid f/a's having to live in the expensive cities, i.e. Boston, NYC etc.

You can still get a decent studio apt in the Boston area for under $800.00 a month if you want to live alone.
