FINALLY!!!

I have been wondering for years when AFA-AWA would get it together.

Three years is ridiculous, Ten is insane.

BRAVO. Now let the games begin.

I was not at the meeting myself. Just putting out what information I have so far. I'm sure NoMoreKoolaid was there so we'll hear soon enough. I don't know much more than that. I do know that MF was asked if he felt his office was run well and supposedly replied NO. He was asked that while away if he feels he needs to micro manage the office again replying YES. Regardless of possibly knowing the MEC VP personally, he has appeared to not be doing his job very well. MF was also asked if it were true about BB refusing to fly from BOS to LGA after the downing of 1549 and again he had to reply YES. After many in the meeting listening to this and what MF had to say the choice wasn't a hard one to make apparently. Maybe someone from the meeting could add more.

It certainly DOES happen. It may not happen from crew schedulers as they know better but when you have a plane and a crew the agents will try.

The original post said that CREW SCHEDULING wanted to have a west crew pre-board an east flight. Gate agents are not crew scheduling. Gate agents just want to get their job done and will aks crews to do things to achieve that goal. Unfortunately they do not know your contracts. If a gate agent says crew scheduling called and asked you to pre-board a flight call crew scheduling to verify. I do not know how it is done with east crew scheduling but on the west if we need a crew, pilot or flight attendant, we will call the gate and ask them to have the crew call scheduling. We will not call the gate and ask them to have a crew pre-board.

First off... You are wrong... Both east and west F/A's have been trained on both metals. The "Differences Training" we took last year proves you wrong. Second, the company isn't asking you to fly the aircraft, only to board it. You as flight attendants both east and west meet the criteria by the FAA to do so....

If I would have said that they were not trained to work an east flight I would be wrong. But i never brought that up.

What was said was that CREW SCHEDULING tried to have a west crew pre-board an east flight. Even though the flight attendants are trained for all eqipment they can not work all eqipment. Pre-boarding a flight is technically working and a west crew can not work an east flight and east can not work west. It's like asking an east pilot crew to move a west a/c from the CLT hangar to a gate. They are trained to do it but since we are not one airline yet they can not do it and crew scheduling will not ask them to do it.

US east has had frontline workers do “work a roundsâ€￾ due to the seasoned work force and all the major changes that have accrued. There has been some incredible story’s about the frontline workers taking situations into there on hands. This is a testament of leadership and devotion to customer service. But at some point you have to send a message

:cold:  Y A W N
Much to peoples chagrin I decided to stick my nose back in this mausoleum of a forum. What happened great scott, it needs shock paddles and an IV drip. TravelPro has kept me in the loop. What to take on first......

I feel like the first day at JR High...reading all this mess. What are these poeple smoking!

Great God in heaven this is like reading a script from Young and the Restless! On the MEC recall item: Can anyone tell me why he was a great officer? What am I not getting here? You don't do your job you go period. If I sat down during a medical emergency or whatever and refused I would expect to be fired! If I refused to do a beverage service I would expect to be called in. I would like to wipe this entire MEC off the map but oh the hell well! We can't do everything but this is a first step. Good for the members of PHL and DCA, they are getting involved. Like in the W-2 mishap Buddy put out an eline that was the first in years! And that was after everyone thew a fit. It's not hard people and even Teddy would have sent us out more than we got in this !

I'm amazed....truly. PHL can't even organize themselves to get rid of McCorkey who is the biggest scam schemer that ever came down the AFA pike, but the LECPs with their BIG vote will recall Buddy who is so benign and would never ever scam the f/as or budget. Buddy has more history in his little figner than all of USAirways MEC/LECPs put together!!! McCorkey could recall just with his vote, regardless of what the others do. Just how many f/as were at these meetings anyway?????
Then you got that orf in DCA who abstaains his vote, when he just loves, loves "recalls'.
IMO USAirways AFA will never move forward until the likes of McCork and Flores are removed. You guys will continue to swim upstream.

Some things will just never change.

PITBull,

State your case please. Buddy is who and what and why? We don't know him from a turd in a punch bowl. I know he comes from an esteemed AFA line but I want to see his performance! In the past 3 years what has he done? Pit you know as well as anyone we can only do ONE thing at a time. You can't be Endora off Bewitched and just wave your hands...POOF....all the nerdowels are gone. This is not the end...only the start. If Buddy has a say well tell him to speak up! Is he a total moot without any lines of communication with us? I emailed him and NOTHING. On top of that numerous people say he can't show up...no return emails...refusal to fly to a crash site? What are we to dismiss or accept as fact? The motion I think was to say lets talk about it. Not to blindly recall him...just discuss what's best. So, what's your thoughts?

beach is back!!! Good God! There were 30 people at the DC meeting and the recall of Buddy debated for over a half hour. It was a serious and not something to take lightly. This MEC is now on notice. Put up or your are gone period. Goes for LEC as well. We are in charge not the figure heads. Anyone going to the CLT meeting PM me. Your stage take the spotlight.

The original post said that CREW SCHEDULING wanted to have a west crew pre-board an east flight.
Respectfully, I have overheard crew schedulers accuse F/As of refusing to fly when they are, in fact, illegal to do so. I have overheard a supervisor threaten termination should a F/A break their own contract, and an FAR, by refusing to exceed sixteen hour duty day.

Way too many "schedulers" have no idea why a computer flags an illegality, they have been collectively reduced to menial labor, the knowledge having been tossed under a bus in order to "save a dime or two".

It seem the "company" could care less about FARs or legalities, much less a contract.

Learn your contract and the relevant FARs, and do not hesitate turning the company in to the FAA and/or the press. It is all the employees have left.
