She has already risen to protect Buddy. He is a great person but all we ask is that you show up and perform. The amount of entitlement is so stifling. Get with it, Ann C is no Saint but pretends that she is. Do not act like you are not running from the demons that all of us have. These LECPs are as much a part of the problem as you flight attendants..........................

Oh please the Charlotte flight attendants are slowly getting Anns MO and they are getting fed up. Don't twist their bows too hard they will go crazy all over her! The sooner the better for all of us. I hear she is trying to haul Buddy to her March meeting to "set the record straight" Oh please Ann get real. Your big flabber lips told people in the room recently your real motive. You don't think the people in CLT will recall Buddy if he is sitting IN YOUR MEETING. Right from your lips and so your style. Show up guys and gals. Hell, if I were there I would go for the gusto and recall Miss Crowley herself. Get those signatures going. Ann go pray tonight honey sugar....you need it.

PHL counsel 70 has to answer calls from the CLT base because you can't get a call back from anyone in councel 89.

I have had to call PHL before since none of the union reps in CLT were answering or responding to an urgent call. The union rep in PHL was very helpful, but then a few minutes later JM called and yelled at me for calling the PHL union office, stating that PHL is such a big base and that they can only help PHL flight attendants and that I am supposed to call the CLT union reps and I told him they don't answer or respond to my calls and I knew they had people in PHL who actually answered the phone and that would help me. I was so mad because I am paying union dues so what does it matter? If I have a problem then somebody better give me an answer immediately, especially when time is of essence. CLT based flight attendants definitely need to do something about this! Why is it so difficult to get in touch with a CLT LEC rep?

March 27th. CLt the power is yours. Do something. This MEC is in a scramble right now. They have to be poo pooing themselves! Free ride is over! John sent us a email saying don't call his cell only the office during normal hours. what is this a bank? John has an Army of people in there to answer phones. My $$ at work, great heavens. And still no email from John, does it take a week to write one email to members? Hell, go back to being a loud mouth with a personal email address. You were better back then McCorkle and dare I say more effective!

Flight attendants are NOTORIOUS for hoping the next f/a will vote, speak up or take a stand. Everyone is busy but when they need something they want the union. YOU are the "union" folks. Start paying attention and hold those in elected positions accountable. I don't care WHAT time it is if I have an issue that is of importance I'm ringing cells. This is a 24 hour operation is it not? Let's slowly and methodically take the union back huh? CLT....ya'll better get your buns to that meeting and let them have it. Speaking of the CLT meeting is "new business" added to the agenda? Hmmmmmm 😉

Yowsers...

I wish we never had to go over 15 hours... 🙂

Though I stopped volunteering to go over 14.5 a long time ago. Considering FARs go out the window the minute you do. 7.5 hours of extra pay isn't worth jack to a Reserve when no one is getting over 30 hours towards guarantee.

Well if Buddy is going to show up GREAT. The intention of the resolution in PHL is not to be mean spirited however Buddy needs a wake up call. I have had a few wake up calls and mine have been far more painful. If all you have to do is show interest then we have done him a favor. We as flight attendants if we express displeasure always get labeled .How many times do we hav to be told change is good we need an involved Union.

Could anyone explain the BB issue further? PHL and DCA recalled him, now what's next? Been on leave...

Cliff Notes Version:

MEC upset Buddy doesn't show up to the MEC office and put in a full weeks work. 3 days I think is all they require? Slacking off
Members upset at him not doing a good job and being a team player
Buddy tells people they are not his boss and goes "rouge"
No one hears from him at all really
INSERT GRUMBLE GRUMBLE under the table from the other LEC members but they are happy just doing nothing.

1549 goes splash. Mike Flores calls Anne Crowley in AFA 89 to ask who she will be sending. Anne responds to mind his business. "Take care of the MEC I will deal with CLT" Or something to that effect. Council 89 sends NO ONE to NYC and Anne just goes about her day like nothing was going on.
Knowing this would be the case Mike Flores calls Buddy Brandon at his home in Boston. Asks him to get on the shuttle to NYC. Buddy refuses flat out.
It comes up in the AFA Philly meeting to consider the recall of the MEC Vice President. Debate goes on and on. Once the members learn the facts they instruct John to recall Buddy.
Same thing in DC a few days after.
Badabing badaboom it's on the agenda. The members were clear so it should be interesting how this MEC proceeds.

Just for clarification-the MEC officers should be in the office 4 days a week. I don't know if I would consider arriving in CLT Tuesday afternoon and leaving Friday morning 4 days of work. Certainly not for 108hrs of pay each month.

I'm not trying to stir up a hornets nest but are the pilots trying to obtain jumpseat privileges on the f/a jumpseat like they do out west? And if so, does that mean the pilots could bump f/a's out of the jumpseat?

I don't know how that works out west, so maybe someone could clarify the policy.

When it becomes necessary for a Pilot to request a cabin jumpseat, it is processed only after the Flight Attendants have been cleared. FAs have priority for the Cabin Jumpseat and cannot be bumped from the cabin jumpseat by a Pilot.

Just to be CRYSTAL CLEAR and according to the AFA USAirways Policy and Procedures state MEC officers are to be in the MEC office 4 days a week. When I was in office the MEC Officers who lived out of base were there in PIT 4 days a week. Why it's different NOW you maybe asking,... because you have an MECP that doesn't know how to LEAD by example. As an MECP, I furnished my work agenda every single week IN ADVANCE to the entire MEC, every single week so that the MEC members KNEW everything I was doing and what I was working on!!!!

That my friends is NOT doneby this sitting MECP that does what he pleases, shows up when he wants etc... etc... etc...

Buddy is not trained for critical response thus he does not have to be there.

mike flores did not call out the trained critical response people folks, does someone ask WHY??????? You guys need to find out WHO is on the critical response team, ask them if they were called out...and WHEN? I wouldn't be asking Mike F. cause he will talk about every issue BUT THE issue. What's going on with him lately, anyone asking???

The MEC VP duties are defined by the MECP, and there is no delegation of duties as MIKE F. DOES NOT INCLUDE ANYONE IN WHAT HE IS DOING UNTIL ITS PRETTY MUCH A DONE DEAL!!!!

HOW ABOUT SOMEONE CALLING THE LECP OF COUNCIL 66 AND ASKING ABOUT NEGOTIATIONS AND YES...MIKEY HAS MISSED...YES MORE THAN A FEW SCHEDULED NEGOTATIONS...IS HE WRITING OUT TO THE MEC WHY?????? IS ANYONE INQUIRING???? WHERE IS THE GUY???? AND WHY DOESN'T ANYONE KNOW WHY?????

You should be asking council 66 LECP, Lisa, for his days missed, and then investigate where he is and what the hell he is doing, and it doesn't have anything to do with flight 1549, because this was occurring BEFORE!!!

Still haven't heard from anyone why Pat Friend still holds the seat of AFA International President as a retiree from United. She can't hold a seat anywhere as a retiree, anyone doing anything about it??? NOPE!
Why is Mike F. submitting applications as staff negotiator for the International, and why is there a BOD agenda item written by the AFA International to protect the AFA International pension plans for the staff and officers with $500,000 subsidized by f/a dues $$$? Bet you guys didn't know that!!!! Did anyone in AFA International protect the f/as pensions???? Is anyone telling there LECPs that they want this voted DOWN, DOWN, DOWN!!!!!!!! Boy, do some people have the f/as purposely on the wrong tract...divide and conquer, keep the massess busy with peripheral sutpidity to avoid the real issues until they go through right under your noses!

Anyone foccusing on why there is a lack of movement on negotiations and what is the strategy to make the company move?

You guys are FOCUSED on the wrong issues. Ethically the MECP should go, and he went up to LGA to receive media attention days later. MEC Safety, EAP folks and the LGA Presdient WHERE there.

You guys are just focused on the WRONG issues. Just shows me once again that when it comes to AFA issues the f/as are still so damn ignorant its embarrasing to observe.

Buddy is THE historian and has more AFA experience than the ENTIRE MEC. And I promise you this, if you take Buddy out of the equation of AFA, you will have this company management RAILROADING the MECP over the damn cliff, contract langauge and ALL.

But what happens after everyone has cleared. As an example...should a pilot get on and then a f/a runs up at the last minute for what ever reason....would the pilot have to give up the jumpseat?
