Mike's Fired Up-US AFA LABOR THREAD

Just to be CRYSTAL CLEAR and according to the AFA USAirways Policy and Procedures state MEC officers are to be in the MEC office 4 days a week. When I was in office the MEC Officers who lived out of base were there in PIT 4 days a week. Why it's different NOW you maybe asking,... because you have an MECP that doesn't know how to LEAD by example. As an MECP, I furnished my work agenda every single week IN ADVANCE to the entire MEC, every single week so that the MEC members KNEW everything I was doing and what I was working on!!!!

That my friends is NOT doneby this sitting MECP that does what he pleases, shows up when he wants etc... etc... etc...

Buddy is not trained for critical response thus he does not have to be there.

mike flores did not call out the trained critical response people folks, does someone ask WHY??????? You guys need to find out WHO is on the critical response team, ask them if they were called out...and WHEN? I wouldn't be asking Mike F. cause he will talk about every issue BUT THE issue. What's going on with him lately, anyone asking???

The MEC VP duties are defined by the MECP, and there is no delegation of duties as MIKE F. DOES NOT INCLUDE ANYONE IN WHAT HE IS DOING UNTIL ITS PRETTY MUCH A DONE DEAL!!!!

HOW ABOUT SOMEONE CALLING THE LECP OF COUNCIL 66 AND ASKING ABOUT NEGOTIATIONS AND YES...MIKEY HAS MISSED...YES MORE THAN A FEW SCHEDULED NEGOTATIONS...IS HE WRITING OUT TO THE MEC WHY?????? IS ANYONE INQUIRING???? WHERE IS THE GUY???? AND WHY DOESN'T ANYONE KNOW WHY?????

You should be asking council 66 LECP, Lisa, for his days missed, and then investigate where he is and what the hell he is doing, and it doesn't have anything to do with flight 1549, because this was occurring BEFORE!!!

Still haven't heard from anyone why Pat Friend still holds the seat of AFA International President as a retiree from United. She can't hold a seat anywhere as a retiree, anyone doing anything about it??? NOPE!
Why is Mike F. submitting applications as staff negotiator for the International, and why is there a BOD agenda item written by the AFA International to protect the AFA International pension plans for the staff and officers with $500,000 subsidized by f/a dues $$$? Bet you guys didn't know that!!!! Did anyone in AFA International protect the f/as pensions???? Is anyone telling there LECPs that they want this voted DOWN, DOWN, DOWN!!!!!!!! Boy, do some people have the f/as purposely on the wrong tract...divide and conquer, keep the massess busy with peripheral sutpidity to avoid the real issues until they go through right under your noses!


Anyone foccusing on why there is a lack of movement on negotiations and what is the strategy to make the company move?

You guys are FOCUSED on the wrong issues. Ethically the MECP should go, and he went up to LGA to receive media attention days later. MEC Safety, EAP folks and the LGA Presdient WHERE there.



You guys are just focused on the WRONG issues. Just shows me once again that when it comes to AFA issues the f/as are still so damn ignorant its embarrasing to observe.

Buddy is THE historian and has more AFA experience than the ENTIRE MEC. And I promise you this, if you take Buddy out of the equation of AFA, you will have this company management RAILROADING the MECP over the damn cliff, contract langauge and ALL.

Actually I don't think her rants are boring in the least!! It's nice to get some insight as to what is going on with the union. Right now we need her more than ever and IF our MECP is missing negotiating sessions during this critical time then we ALL need to know about it and have an answer as to why! I am refraining from having an opinion on the issues with Buddy and Mike because I don't have the answers and all of the facts. I will say that I do not feel that Council 89 is even remotely effective nor are they visible and communicating to the membership! People may not like Teddy because she tells you what's up whether you want to hear it or not, (It's called reality and a hell of a LOT of people around here need a good dose of it) in fact when I had my first interaction with her she scared the $#!T out of me, but after I put on a clean pair of underwear I realized that she was very effective and good at getting things accomplished!

But what happens after everyone has cleared. As an example...should a pilot get on and then a f/a runs up at the last minute for what ever reason....would the pilot have to give up the jumpseat?

Technically and contractually, yes, the Pilot would need to relinquish the jumpseat to the Flight Attendant. Of course, if time constraints were of such where it was departure time and the FA showed up I don't think the gate agents would be so inclined to do this in fear of creating a delay.

I'm going to have to agree with this to a point. Ms Xidas is no longer a dues paying member and why she is so caught up in this situation with the thought of her boy Buddy being recalled isn't boring its pretty funny. The fact that she is going to such lengths to create a stir over it makes one wonder. The MECVP is far from a saint, if in fact he is NOT doing the job he is being paid 108 hours a month to do, I don't care how much of a historian he is, he's needs to be back flying the line for that 100 hours a month. 108 hours of pay he should be in that office at least 21 days a month, preferrable during office hours.

Now as for those that find Teddy's "rants" boring, isn't it FUNNY that she knows as much as she does and isn't even on the G'damn property. I'd be willing to bet that again 99.9 would have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what the hell she just said. People I'm sorry the majority of the f/a group are stupid, stupid, stupid. The majority of f/a's are like lost lambs in the wood. They can't even figure out a contractual legality over a cappuccino on the A330. Sometimes there are things that I don't get up front but as a whole the f/a's are a bunch of fools. I agree that if f/a's are gonna start holding folks in the union accountable why in HELL would you start your fight with Buddy. Even if you start one brick at a time why him while the rest of AFA Int'l and the union on US property is a mess all the way around. What a joke. On the f/a's that is. 🙄

I have a "hard-on" for lazy, pathetic money grabbing union leaders who don't earn the honor and privilege of holding the seat they represent.

And more pathetically are those AFA members who still don't focus on the real issues that directly effect their working lives. Funny, DCA LECP wins by acclaimation everytime he has runs fpr pffoce (meaning, no one runs against him, and he ofcourse...wins). PHL wins by > than 300votes in the biggest base at USAirways, hardly considered support for his reperesentation at the base. And than there's Mike F. gets to slide in and keep his seat because of these two base Presidents who keep his seat for him...Like the Mickey Mouse club, cry'in out loud.

But, certain big mouth f/as feel so empowered to pull the most professional, sophisticate, intelligent guy like Buddy out of his seat...simply pathetic! I worked with Buddy for 5 years...he's one of the best I've worked with, and dedicated to the f/as and helped me every step of the way... Why? Because I included him in every single issue I tackled.

You guys just kill me.

I think there is more corruption at AFA than many know or realize. I'm never against recalling someone if it's for the right reasons. Now with that being said, why start with Buddy. If Buddy were gone tomorrow would that stop the likes of others in AFA. I feel there are others who's position should be revisited. Nobody likes to recall during negotiations so I guess that keeps Mike safe. Because Buddy is a bit more accessible as far as recalling he'll be made an example of while others still remain seated in their post. Those at MEC or LEC level will not see this as a "witch hunt" if you will. We have people in AFA that have done FAR worse yet sit here because they are harder to go after. So because they are more secure while the one who NOBODY knows gets recalled? Everyone talks about why Buddy didn't go to LGA. What prevented anyone else from going? 🙄
