oh hold on there just a minute. I negotiated restructure 1 and that was not part of LTO. They wanted buckets and all that garbage the first time and hell back to 2000 and i told them to take a hike. i have my notes I will go look at them right now.

Calm down, no one is accusing you of anything. The thread is discussing whether or not BB was part of the negotiations that impleted LTO. He was part of the negotiating team of 2002, if that is the tentative that included LTO then he did in fact have a hand in this LTO reserve system.

Why don't we take a stroll down AFA memory lane and pull the curtain back a little here. Look at the email that was found in the DCA archives. This may help us to understand where loyalties lay and how the game is played. One person right in the middle of it is none other than Mike Flores who at the time was LEC President of Charlotte.

Dear Council 41 Members:

MEC ELECTIONS; WHAT HAPPENED?
At the MEC Meeting (Nov 9-11) MEC Officers and Committee Chairpersons were elected by the MEC (each LEC President). The term of office begins January 1, 2005 and ends December 31, 2007.

The officers are:
MEC President, Teddy Xidas LEC President Pittsburg; MEC Vice President, Buddy Brannon LEC President BOS; MEC Secretary/Treasurer Leslie Miller, re-elected. Keep in mind Ms. Xidas has stated she will keep her position as LEC President of PIT which is allowed but not recommended by the AFA Constitution and Bylaws.

Now many of you may ask or at least you should, how these people were elected. Each LEC President has one vote and one person must receive a majority vote of the MEC (4 votes). There were 4 individuals running for President. I supported and voted for the current MEC President Perry Hayes. However after a great deal of political games there was a run off election between Ms. Xidas and an unknown individual. I say unknown because this person has never done AFA work. So now I am faced with voting for Teddy or this other individual, I had no choice but to abstain my vote. I cannot support Ms. Xidas and if you want to know why, please contact me. Teddy Xidas was elected; 4 votes for and 2 abstentions. Immediately after the election I motioned to recall Ms. Xidas (CLT seconded the motion) however the motion failed, only the CLT President Mike Flores and myself voted for the recall.

The political games played in my opinion were: the new MEC vice president lost his local election in BOS and cut a deal with other members of the MEC to put him into the VP position and Teddy into the Presidents position.

I have written to you in the past regarding the current negotiating committee and MEC President, I told you that I can sleep nights knowing they will do their absolute best in the absolute worst of times. With Ms. Xidas leading the group now I am NOT sleeping nights. I hope I am wrong and I will be the first to admit it. I know we should show a unified front but that will be very hard to do. She will have to earn my trust and respect and I do not believe we have time for that. Things are happening fast and furious. I will do my best to look after our interests. I will remain vigilant and prepare for our futures. The MEC President answers to the LEC Presidents of each base; I will do my best to hold her accountable to speak for all members not just those in PIT.

The AFA process of elections is a democratic one and I stand by that, I do not condemn AFA for this and neither should you; it is the individuals that should be faulted.

By all means enlighten me, who negotiated the 2002 agreement that included LTO? I believe it was in that t/a that LTO was negotiated.

Actuallly, the first concession was ratified Aug 9th 2002 with NO LTO and without bankruptcy in the equation. This concession had to do with the company qualifying for a $1 billion ATSB bailout loan. Seems like gov. small potatoes now...

the second ratification was Dec. 2002, AFTER the company went into their FIRST Bankruptcy of Aug 10, 2002. That's where LTO was rammed down the MECs throat with a 6:00 p.m. deadline of Chapter 7 liquidation threat in the room. Two of us didn't believe the company at all...but the rest of the MEC including the MECP at the time DID.

As my notes reveal....PIT and PHL LECPs wrote a newsletter for a NO vote for this concession...PIT voted unanimously NO; and PHL voted FOR by a slim margin. The rest of the membership in the other bases voted unanimously FOR.

Concession #1 and concession #2 ratifications started the bifercation among the MEC members, and we started to throw folks out of office.

Also "mr" Hayes, and I use that term loosely was trying to negotiate and steal work from other unionized employees, it was Teddy who stopped it, during Chapter 11 part 1.

You don't have to be a second-term AFA rep to know the history, you just have to be intelligent:

* MEC Elects Negotiating Committee

In addition to MEC President Karen Lascoli, the Negotiating Committee elected to represent you is:

Teddy Xidas, President of Local 40, Pittsburgh
Buddy Brannon, President of Local 69, Boston
Terri Graf, Vice President-Elect of Local 70, Philadelphia

So now the question becomes was LTO negotiated in the 2002 agreement that has TX, BB, and TG names on it?

Wrong again Bozo. Let's go down memory lane.

Concession #1 was negotiated in June, 2002 and ratified Aug. 2002. The aformentioned negotiating committee was brought together for concession #1!! After ratification of concession #1, the negotiating committee was dismantled. Teddy Xidas separated from the neogitating committee 2 hours before the committee voted to bring out the T/A, which she didn't want any part of. Karen..the then MECP would not permit her to go out on the road shows for this concsssion, so Teddy blasted the concession T/A and PIT voted a landslide NO vote! THERE WAS NO LTO IN THAT LANGUAGE.

So, anyone with any intelligence and HISTORY should know that concession 1 ratification Aug. 9th 2002 had no LTO language.

Next....

There were two MEC officers that negotiated 6 days for concession #2 ratification Dec. 2002. Perry Hayes, and Pam Hook along with Clare Burt of AFA International and Stephanie Brown, AFA attorney. Period. The company forced the negotiations as we were in BANKRUPTCY 1. Either the MEC officers went in; or the judge would order it.

THERE WAS NO ELECTED COMMITTEE FOR DEC. 2002 T/A AND LTO WAS THOUGHT UP ONLY BY THE COMPANY AND RAMMED DOWN THE MEC WITH AFA INTERNATIONAL HOLDING THE GUN.

I know...I was there!!!!!

Now, try and call me a liar.

Buddy did NOT. There was no LTO in concession #1, Buddy was with me.

There was NEVER a deal struck with Buddy and me...NEVER!!! That's Bob Kenia's version and his side kick Alin B. Bob never cared for my positions and going against his favorite girl at AFA ...Pat Friend. Same with Alin who is very far up AFA International's BUTTT.

These guys, including Boy Wonder...Mike F. who loved the political wrangling and fed into Bob K. politics of protecting AFA International.

The hardest time I had at AFA was never with the management...it was with my own people, the MEC and International who only cared about membership dues!!!

That is one powerful entity and they will do what they can to destroy you. This is the nature of the beast when you deal with political envy and moral corruption...you have to deal with these kinds of folks, but its like a knife being thrown at you... to be able to even talk to managment...is one hard feat dodging those knives and getting around the union BS.

Mike Flores wasn't even an LECP for one year, and had political envy with me...he wanted the MECP seat and would have done anything he could to pull me out.

My days were numbered, and I knew it. I tried to get done for the f/as whatever I could while I still could hold on to the seat with the Pittsburgh roll call numbers that I had as LECP. PIT numbers along with LGA, and BOS (Lynne) still could keep me in office, and of course the "will" of the majority of the f/a membership. There was still much to do with the "dependability" modifications that I sought and the company was going along with it, too, but the political wrangling of those MEC members was stronger and they were pushing me out.

Once Laura A (PHL LECP) won her election in July 2005, Alin(DCA), Mike (CLT) and Laura(PHL) had the numbers to get me out using every excuse they could find, even calling a recall special meeting in DCA AFA International to pull me out.

Finally I resigned as MECP and held my seat as the LECP of PIT until I took the furlough Dec. 5 2005.

That's the history.

Remember, AFA Constitution and Bylaws its all about rollcall numbers that the base has. Now, its PHL along with DCA combined that hold Mike F. in his seat and has the majority of the power at USAirways for the f/as.

Its Alin (DCA) and John, PHL Presidents that should be pushing to change LTO...these are your "huckleberrys".
They have formed their "alliance", and protect Mike F., and AFA International. The rest of the LECPs at USAirways have formed theirs but don't have enough votes together to make "change" for you. Hell, they try and I know this for a fact, folks...but they can't break the stronghold with the DCA/PHL alliance.

If I were a f/a active, I'd be doing everything in my power to BREAK that toxic alliance. And bringing in someone with heart and passion for the group, and strategy for immprovements to the concessionary agreements.[/b]

Looks like someone else needs to calm down too-I was simply pointing out whose names were on the negotiating committee in 2002-my question which you seem to believe you answered was...Was LTO negotiated by that committee? You are saying NO, so why so hostile about it?? If YOU or BB were not part of it, there is no need for your ugly attitude just simply be professional and say yes we were part of the 2002 negotiating committee but not the committe that was forced into LTO. Then again being professional was never one of your strong suits.

If you don't know the history; don't imply what you think. Strategy you play of "opinion" rather than "fact"... is the master of deception...I already know who you are...so don't play me.

Those that roll over and play the companies "Patsy" I don't find professional either. 😉

TravelPro you paint with such a large brush. That just covered every AFA LECP currently in office. They are so snuggled up to Labor Relations I bet the phone is on vibrate when they go to bed just waiting for a call from 480 area code. And the pasted eline was from Bob Kenya, he is in between Pats bosom now I do believe. I would take spirit over professionalism after what I have witnessed from AFA any day. What they view as professional is really translation for "I have a brown nose for management".

The fact of the matter is what I stated, TX, BB and TG were part of the 2002 negotiating committee, that is fact? The question I had was did that committee negotiate LTO. You said NO-fine end of that story.

Trust me I would never begin to try to play you, you aren't worth my time.

The hardest part of all of the applause is that no one is listening to the empty audience. I am proud of the 2000 agreement and Restructure Numero Uno. I want everyone to know that there are people being FIRED with no representation. Does that sink in more Piney, PitBull is your hero .Good for the lot and the likes of all of you. I could care less except that good people are being thrown to the fires of Hell and they will have no Insurance and will lose there homes. That is my reality tonight. Those Golden Rain Shower days are Gone.........

The AFA union on property at US right now is about 90% bull.... ! ! ! Ya know what I mean. I don't care how ya cut it. Just read what Bajababe just posted. It's reality and this union is at times absolutely USELESS! ! They don't raise a voice and if they DO the company couldn't care any less than they already do. Between Teddy and Terry they were two of the strongest G'damn unionists this property has ever seen. Now what you have is everyone locked up in their castles and the villagers don't know what to do to get rid of them.
