Pit trying to get these people on the same page is insane. Just wait. I can here the rumbles starting and this place is about to erupt like Mt Vesuvius.
 
Basically, timing is everything. We would be much better off if TX was to be recalled in time for whatever AFA and US cook up, I think on that most people would agree.

However, a recall is looking kind of far away right now. In the fall, we'll be lucky if we don't end up with furloughs. In the meantime, it's every man for himself. Meaning, individuals are responsible for their own situations.

Keep your nose clean and tend to your financial status, because individual strength will translate to group strength in the end. This din will only get louder as we get closer to the end of this ungodly contract. DP et al think that we are dumb enough to settle, even when in shouting distance of this contract's end. Keep your eye on time and on your opponent. In DP's mind, anything better than this debacle is "non concessionary". We're all speaking a different language right now.

It may be that TX returning as a LODO will ironically interpret something entirely differrent than Greek.

I'd love to see the day. Imagine Teddy calling the union office, "I'mmmm baaaaaaaack". Then the union would know how the family in the movie Poltergeist felt. :lol: Oh honey do it.......DO IT! ! ! !
 
Cute! Just the rumor of her return have apparently gotten some knickers in a twist.
GOOD!!! I think it's time to start rattling some cages amongst the rank and file and some of our union reps! Teddy said it earlier and she's right... we need to evolve and one of our problems around here is the more things change the more they stay the same.. The more I read of this thread the more P!$$#D off I am to find out that some of our elected officials are too busy crawling up AFA International's butt and playing politics and not really doing the job they were elected to do!
 
Can't we just revive the same thread from a year or so ago? This is so tiring. And pathetic. JM is wonderful at running an office; I just wish he was the "cut throat" leader he claimed to be when he sent out those ballsy newsletters.

Someone sold out. 🙁
 
Your first sentence says it all! A year has come and gone. What if anything has changed?

MF is still killing trees with his eloquent letters that are quite impressive yet yield no results.

JM is a very nice man. I've met him once or twice. I'm sure JM is very organized and runs a fine office. But honestly how does that impact those who fly the line and are getting written up for questionable reasons?

Indeed last years thread should be revived as NOTHING HAS CHANGED and that in and of itself should tell you that ALL of the LECP's should be recalled and replaced by those with the "hormones" for the job. You need someone with enough guts to shut the place down.

It's YOUR union, your contract and if you haven't learned that B!tching on here and in the galley gets you nothing, then you deserve whatever contract you get.
With all due respect PB.....Nothing can change here, we have a contract in place that sucks. The union has tried to give the company a TA and they shoot it down. You dont work here and do not fly the line every day. You do not work for the union or line F/A's . Dont assume nothing is being done when you are not in the know. We have many many F/A's that take an active part in protecting what we have, not just the few that come on this board. What do you know of the background and the work of all the LECP's on our property? You cant just change a contract that is in place. Getting information on this board is only a fraction of whats really going on. Do you know what each officer's daily duty's are, and dealing with the sandcastle and sched. daily would be like? I dont stand behind each and every one of them, but I do appreciate their time in effort.
Before comming on this board and suggesting a recall I would first work here ! We dont need to be told what we deserve. You want it shut down......that speaks volumes to all the hard working people that choose to work here!!!

A lot can change.

A supervisor threatened termination unless a FA violated an FAR, we cancelled the trip, right there. Stick together, work together. The first person who thinks they cannot be interdicted, educate them.

Know the contract and be ready to enforce it, to the letter. A lot can change but it takes educated people, willing to hew to the law.

What does this mean?

Is one to assume from your post that wanting change in your working conditions translates to shutting down the airline??

What strategy do you have? I don't know what hole you've been hiding in, but and language in a contract can be changed, contracts can be changed....none of the cncessionary agreements were with amendable contracts...

TX, I love and respect you...I was only try to explain what it is like to PB. With out working here and living it ..you cant just assume. I dont work for or hold any office any longer, that base was closed. I truly wish you were here now to lead us in this mess. You are one of a kind and well will never find another like you !!!!!
 
this week a member of our council went into the union office with John McCorkle and reviewed the council 70 LEC Budget. Michael Elias looked at the allowable expense for afa and found John was deducting his crash pad as an expense. this is allowable per afa so they say under the hotel section but I agree with Michael when he told them perception is everything. If I were you, I would bring this forward at the next LEC meeting because our flight attendants are sick and tired of the free ride of afa officials and the ability to bank vacation time, sick time and not be accountable for their actions. if this were allowable why did just john claim it and not the other elected officers of this council? I tip my sombrero to michael for taking the time and the guts. I was sick at the thought of confronting McCorkle with this chatter, how many standards do we set for certain people? happy to be back in philly and to see my cat CHEWY! :up:
