New Routes on East/West Metal?

That Days Inn in Chester, PA has got to be the safest place to be after dark in that town. Having walked around there in the daylight, I'd say it's still the safest place in town.

It's a heck of a drive on the shuttle from the airport, though. I guess "Low Cost" also applies to crew accomodations, too.

hey guys .it's not true that you have to be senior to hold an intl . to hold a block on intl yes. but to hold a trip not really. i have 10 yrs and i have flown every dest we serve except for stockholm and that was by choice because i swapped for the 50 hr lisbon layover. infact, i am going to man on the sixth. in feb i flew man ,cdg, and the 50hr milan. you just got to know how to get them .heck i even flew "A" to cdg.

I suggest we open the ETB system wide. Then you could trade and never have to move to another base again. If your based in PHL you could pick up/trade out of PHX, LAS any and all. How great and flexible would that be?

Yes juniors fly INT"L they use reserves and juniors trade and pick from the AIL. Remember seniors rarely fly their original block with vacation, sick and trades via the ETB/AIL. Its open regularly.

I agree the ETB should be open to all bases... most people commute anyway. It would be fun to pick up trips out of other bases.

Pawob, the Days Inn is a commuter hotel. The airline diesn't put people there! Commuters choose to stay there because its cheap. Chester is pretty nasty. There's the Days Inn, a bar you're likely to get shot in, a rehab center across the way, and a school. thats about it. Again, not Philly at all. Not even Philadelphia county.

Although it was two years since I last stayed in that rat trap of a town, there were PSA and Mainline employees in the van from the airport. Whether Mainline was supposed to overnight there or not, I can't answer. Maybe it was the only thing available at the time.

Yeah. I know it's not in Philadelphia.

Those crew members were staying there on thier own time by thier own accord, on thier own dime. They are commuters who choose to get a hotel room instead of a crash pad in the city they are based in (most of the US PHL base commutes, PSA had a base in PHL until a year or so ago). They stay there because their trips leave eearly or get in late so that they are not able to make a flight to or from thier home city that night.

US or the W/Os, or any airline have never placed crewmembers at either the Days Inn or the Lagoon. Neither would probably even meet the basic requirements, particularly the Lagoon... US has used the same three hotels for years, one downtown, two in the airport area.

Ugh, no thanks! I have no desire to have layovers in places like Buffalo, Allentown or Albany! Just like most of you have no desire to have layovers in El Paso, Albuquerque or Reno.

Let's keep things separate for as long as possible!
HEY! Don't knock it until you try it! Buffalo is a very friendly city! GREAT FOOD! Buffalo wings and the best pizza not to mention a lot of ethic food. Niagara Falls is a hop and a skip away and we have 3 casinos there and lots to see.

It must have been a pretty good and cheap choice. I saw a lot of crews come and go the three days I stayed there. Come to think of it, the low price was the reason I used that Days Inn, besides the fact that it was close to where I needed to be those three days.

I agree. I really like Buffalo at night in the summer. Plus, they have the Albright-Knox Gallery over by Buffalo State. That gallery has a huge collection of Op and Pop Art.

Personally this westie is lookin forward to flying with some easties, time to get Tempe to treat FA's as they should be treated! Anywho, I would welcome a BUF or something different as MCI and PDX get a little old.

As for PDX, the beds were recently replaced and it is right next to the light rail that goes downtown, the 18 hour RON there is not too bad and I have managed to find some fun on that layover.....

As for ABQ, welcome to the roach motel, and we all know about the LAX hotels, ICK!

Looking forward to flying with you too. The East and West separation is old; we need to integrate quicker and with a decent working contract for all. I would love a HNL layover. I miss Hawaii a lot but I'm so busy these days that the only way for me to visit anyone would have to be on an overnight.
