OCT/NOV 2012 US Pilots Labor Discussion

I've run that idea by a west friend of mine that seems to be in the know. He said that wasn't true because the MOU is not a JCBA, it only addresses a few items in the contract, not the whole thing. More of a loa, or side letter.

I agree, it's just that the potential for the MOU being an "agreement" which would/could trigger implementation of the NIC has been raised by West posters on this board.

Therefore, any MOU going forward should address this concern/potential issue and in unambiguous "legalese", nip it in the bud!

In the very least, the East pilots need to know about the possibility of getting "backdoored" by the NIC.

Except that USAPA is not supposed to protect the interests of any one side. They have to represent everyone without partiality.

That never has resonated among the USAPA sheeple though.

Least resistance? So you believe the APA wants the Nic award used in a seniority list integration??
They have no choice...unless they want to join USTUPID on their island of dangerous ground. Which they don't.

It's not about partiality toward the East or West, it's about full disclosure of any and all potential consequences to enable everyone voting to be fully informed of any unintended consequences which might come into play as a result of their vote.

I normally wouldn't respond to you because, as your post clearly illustrates, you are such an ass.

I'm honored beyond words that you would deign to engage in what you imagine to be conversation! Umm..One question though; is "ass" a step up or down from your otherwise effusive assignation of us all as "eastholes"? 😉 Don't fret over any four day trips. As much as I'm sure I'd thoroughly enjoy your insightful and elegantly expressive style....well...that just won't ever happen.

West pilots sitting in GOS (returning from leaves) in PHX were just asked to leave the room because USAPA wants to only talk with the east new hires alone. A few west guys asked to stay but were told security would be called if they didn't cooperate. This is a union meeting for east new hires only. Hmmmm.

Agreed in full.

Don't you mean just for new hires...period? Are there any going west at present?

"A few west guys asked to stay.." Why? As they weren't new hires themselves, and even security apparently had to be mentioned to get them to leave: What was their purpose in trying to crash a meeting exclusively for new hires? Moreover; what possible right did they have to even try to do so?

"L & J,
Make sure the west pilot returnees are not in attendance when the Union makes their presentation at noon today."

What about the west new hires?

That should get us to the end of civilization as we know it, sometime in December, according to the Mayan calender.

Good point. I'll offer an observation that this provides us all a unique opportunity to evaluate the true worth of any/all absurd "career expectations", in this case of an entire civilization.
