OCT/NOV 2012 US Pilots Labor Discussion

You better call Fergie. The guys he told to pass on the recalls are going to sue him and Leonidas. AA is recalling a bunch of pilots, pilots going on top of the furloughed West guys Fergie told to stay off the property. Nice move. Did Marty Harper advise this as a strategy? Parker himself said their would be no recalls and no West hiring. Are you guys going to rethink your scorched earth furloughed ideas now that it has come home to roost?

Lies, lies and more lies.

Do you're enhance a passing knowledge of the truth and reality?

American Airlines will begin recalling furloughed pilots in early 2013, the carrier told pilots Wednesday
“Right now, we are looking at about 40 pilots a month with the first class on Jan. 9, 2013,” said John Hale, the airline’s vice president of flight, in a hotline to members. “Announcing the recall now allows pilots on a deferred status to give the notice necessary if they would like to return to AA in January.”
American currently has about 650 pilots on furlough who haven’t previously been offered a recall.
American’s pilots begin voting Friday on a proposed six-year contract

Clear Direct, as usual uninformed and confused Did you pass on the recall?

American Airlines Inc. expects to hire or recall about 2,500 pilots over the next five years, its top executive told employees Wednesday.
The Fort Worth-based carrier also announced the addition of two international routes from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
Less than half of the pilot jobs would be new positions. About 500 pilots face mandatory age-65 retirement by the end of 2017, 650 pilots are currently on furlough awaiting recall, and a number of pilots can be expected to retire or resign during that period.
Dave O Dell should benefit smartly from the LCC East hiring as well. Best decision he ever made was to leave the sinking West PHX Titanic operation.

First lie. AOL or Eric never told the furloughed guys to stay out. In fact just the opposite.

What would they sue for? Do we have a seniority list? What has been saving you guys so far? NOT RIPE. When the Nicolau is implemented they are going to be very happy.

Next lie. You made a bold statement that the AA pilots are going senior to west pilots. You have no idea what the list will be. A false statement.

Parker said there would be no movement separate ops. That is not going to last forever.

Yes AA announced 40 a moth. The same company that told the court they needed to furlough another 1000 or so just 2 moths ago. Lets wait to see if that hiring or recall really happens.

Well mr. Hypocrite. You argued strongly that the west pilots did not save us airways.

What have "we" you east pilots done personally to give anyone a Job?

NOTHING!

If the AMR thing ever happens, over 2700 pilots will retire age 65 in the next 6 years in the combined airline. Lots of upward movement coming.Lots of jobs being offered NOW here on the East, and you are welcome to interview (or take your recall, whatever.) I have flown with two very nice guys recalled from the West, and we were politely in disagreement about how things should go down via Nic. But great trips, and the overriding theme is they are VERY glad to be East. With no growth, little attrition, no fly lists, and all the piss and vinegar in PHX, life was good here. Plus (as is probably the case both East and West) they were left to fly with all the guys nobody else wants to fly with. I age, I retire, a job is created. That is the best I can do right now. Come on over, the sooner the better for your career!Greeter

Small steps Clear, small steps. Bravo. You get it. We do not NOW have a combined seniority list. You just admitted you believe that to be true. I think that is called a "tell."

Should have been more clear. We do not have what the courts want. A ratified list. Thus the not ripe comment.

We have a list. The company has a list. What usapa doesn't have is an LUP to use a different list.

Clear just said: "Should have been more clear. We do not have what the courts want. A ratified list."

Thanks Clear, you continue to make my day! Not ratified. Not a joint list. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Greeter. (and I find a little humor in that Clear just said he should be "more clear!")

Correct. There is no ratified list. There never has been. Some honest inquiry here, sans all sarcasm = How do you imagine the nic becoming the ratified list? What's your assumed scenario(s) through which that would be forced into being?

I'm in complete agreement with you there. Now...Is there ANY (even slim chance) that yourself and your "spartan" comrades might, even possibly...EVER consider reducing the level of absurdly self-righteous fantasies held, that any of you personally "saved" ..well...anyone at all?

"West’s claim that U.S. Airways emerged from bankruptcy “only because it [was] acquired by a stronger enterprise”10 is reflected neither in the KPMG audit report (cited by West)11 nor in any other portion of the evidence. Instead, each carrier had something to contribute. Airways, for example, was much larger. It served almost twice as many destinations as AWA and carried twice the number of passengers.12 Airways has substantially more cash on hand, following the merger agreement."

"Much of West’s claimed superiority over East, in terms of what it brought to the merger, is speculative. There is, for example, scant support for West’s claim that, post-merger, “the focus of lender anxiety is clearly on the side of U.S. Airways”21 or that, following the merger, with the AWA CEO assuming the helm in Phoenix, “the predator king gets to have the top job, to grant fiefs to his chieftains, and to fly the flag over his castle!”22 Rather, what appears from the evidence is that, post-merger, the companies adopted a mixed management team and that, significantly, they adopted the US Airways collective bargaining agreement as applicable to the combined TWU force.

Thus, setting aside the respective claims of who came with what, the hard evidence as to what was achieved shows significant parity as between carriers, each of which contributed complementary elements to a combined operation."
