You are right, something is BINDING those floodgates that are always talked about, and threatened about. Waiting for the "binding " to begin. What has it been, 7 years or something???

I am in no position to count the costs of sitting out the attrition train. Your are correct about that. The data I posted wasn't a "cost" for me.

Well...I can't speak for others, but I've always striven to employ the very same rules and principles that were so early taught to me, which proved both very reasonable and sound, and have functioned well in the sometimes rather harsh testings of the world for 6 decades now. I must believe your observation more aptly suited to those who see "principles" and any aspect of honor or supposed "integrity" only in a "relative" sense. NONE of my principles permit me to see it fit to allow opportunistic, greed-soaked,self-obsessed and a number of frankly speaking, apparently worthless little punks, to instantly jump at least a decade ahead of those who've actually worked for, and thus properly EARNED their status and positions. My core inability to at all much sympathize with your infantile and entirely opportunistic, greedy BS is YOUR problem, not mine. You need to somehow "sell" the nic. I've NO need to buy it. 😉

No need for any feebly attempted response here, since were we to ever discuss "principles", honor or "integrity"....there would have to be mutual agreement that those existed as even viable and definable concepts on the part of both conversing..which I do not see as the case here. Real and actual principles and personal integrity are proven by backing up one's promises and oaths with one's life....not by printing up T-shirts and making assinine and amazingly infantile videos.

My honest appraisal of what's being dealt with here, regarding the most rabidly devout nicsters, is that one should properly use the psychological guidelines appropriate to interacting with members of a cult. I wish this last were offered in cynical humor, but I'm quite serious about that. Were these people at all sympathetic to my thinking, or were I a more truly and universally caring person towards all people anywhere (which wasn't much appropriate to the military/war bit...that's my feeble out for that personal deficit, and I'm stickin' to it)...I wouldn't even be posting against them here. A number of them flat-out, need help.

Indeed the cards are always shuffled and the house always comes out ahead in the end.

Shall we count the heaps of the fallen masses through all ages who have rushed headlong with vigor, valor, and a vanquishing spirit... only to be demoralized by the grind of time and futility, who are now shackled with ambivalent submission that truly every castle is protected by the age old axiom --Possession is 90% of the law. Truth be known, its probably more like 99.7% but the king's odds makers told him he would never have anyone play if they published the true odds.

The "piedmont principle" was always of the belief that the hole they left behind would be difficult to fill and I talked to enough of the "old hats" to know.

Jake's father certainly was not like that.

I really think what you're saying applied to some of the "old hats" hired before 1977. In 1977 hiring went gangbusters after about 8 years of almost no hiring, and the pilots hired then were of a very different mindset.

Agreed, and it perhaps helps understand the notion of integrity T-shirts, but the chartreuse one with the bold fire engine red lettering is a bit over the top.
