Service Adjustments

Preview: Onboard Changes To better suit the image of a low fare, full service airline, after January 1, 2006,
Attaché will be called the US Airways Magazine and Envoy Class will become
Business Class.

Jim,

HP would have been in the same boat at the end of the year, and Lakefield and US brought money to the table, people forgot the Eastshore investment and a few others.

And no one from either company has said who has gotten what when it comes to the investments that is funding the merger.

And US is the surviving carrier.

Wow jimntx you really sound like an unhappy person. If you don't like the new HP/US than get out. We all have choices nothing is holding you to US unless you have no other skills.

I hope you don't go to your job interviews with that attitude.

Wow, you sound like someone who doesn't read very well. Look at my signature. I do not, nor did I ever, work for U (for which I am eternally grateful).

Do I have to dig up the BK filings again that clearly spell out HP as the acquiring carrier?

The name survives. Don't parlay that to try and spin US into the "surviving" carrier. It was dead without HP.

Jim is one of the most knowledge posters here. He has a great attitude and an incredible and very sought after back ground. He is now having a good time doing something fun and less stressful than his last profession.

If you neeed any insight in to oil and gas. Lok to guys named Jim. Boeingboy or Jimntx.

I only work A position (First Class, domestic) and would love to have a product onboard that I am proud to serve. With our current catering manager it is darn near impossible. There are things that have been mentioned on this board that I would LOVE to have the opportunity to serve...such as the snack basket on short hauls, the Envoy style service on long hauls, etc. I hope with the merger that we can put some first class back into our First Class. Gosh, I even miss the hot towels, linens and bread basket that went away so long ago.

Unfortunately, our catering director has turned our First Class service into a pathetic Y class service on china. She could learn some things from USAirways if we intend to keep the business clientele as regular customers.

I've been working FC since we had Signature Service.
It was A LOT of work, but fun after I got the hang of it.
However, it made absolutely NO financial sense.
While our current domestic FC product is much less 'impressive', its still better than some, including US domestic. They don't even mix the drinks!

HP was, and now US, is a LOW COST CARRIER.
This means the goal is to spend as LITTLE as possible to move one pax.
This is how a profit is made, and I get to keep my job, and maybe hope for a raise.

Nothing will be added, and more will be trimmed.
Well, I take that back, they did add the pretzels back in to East service.
So, see, there is hope they realize there is a threshold.

Wow! These HP guys really shouldn't hold back on the creative juices. Brand your products cheaply and that is exactly what you'll be able to sell them for.

I realize that HP management is still trying to learn how to spell I-N-T-E-R-N-A-T-I-O-N-A-L but they are the ONLY flights that I will pay full fare for. Otherwise my travel needs would be a perfect fit for the pure LCC model. Looks like UA for international for me and US for domestic.

Rumor has it that the "Envoy Class" name will disappear sometime next year...the transatlantic J class cabin will simply be called "Business Class".
I've also hear rumors that we will be serving Spinzels onboard as a replacement for the Snyders pretzles once stocks are depleated.

Any truth to these?

I read in the AZ Repulsive that they were changing the name of the magazine from Envoy to US Airways Magazine. Maybe that was what someone read and it was confused in the pass down.

So much of the identity of US Airways is surviving, I can't imagine they would go generic on something you try to sell as unique.

The magazine is called Attache, Envoy is the transatlantic premium cabin.

Why not call the magazine Cactus or something HP-related? US Airways magazine, what a snoozefest.
