The Company wants to give us aprox $800.00 in a Uniform allotment, They dont want to replace what we already own. So i guess once again we aare getting the shaft. Each of us will be back to the original core uniform with out all the things we really need to wear for the amount of time we are on duty. I know it sounds like a good bit of money but when u deduct the required part it dosent leave much left.

AND WHY DO WE NEED 2 APRONS........VERY FEW WEAR THEM ANYHOW?

THIS IS GETTING TO BE ONE MORE THING TO PI%# US OFF.

everyone needs to call the mec and demand full replacement.

call now call often

US AIRWAYS MEC

412-262-3110 < THIS IS A LISTED NUMBER SO IT SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM BEING PUBLISHED HERE>

Wrong! It will be $850.00..I just flew with one of the cochairs of the uniform committe (who was wearing the new uniform) and we were told you will have NO problem getting a Very Large Amount of uniform pieces for the $850. Also, it will be changed that we will only be required to get 1 serving garment! The most expensive item will be the winter coat Approx $117.00

sky high states: So, how's that work for replacement pieces in the future? What do you get on a year to year basis? And, who decides?
Thanks!

I"ll put the price at..... ONE TRILLION DOLLARS! ! ! NO REPLACEMENTS EVER.

Just curious, how do "Real" airlines handle cost of uniforms?

According to the price chart I seen, I will be able to get more then enough pieces including both coats for 800 and 850. How the uniform is replaced will depend on your contract. For example, you may have to get a supervisors approval for pieces that show signs of wear and turn in the old pieces once you receive the new ones.

Piney, I do not know how "Real" companies do things, but when I was hired I was told what pieces I had to order as part of my core uniform and I paid for it. The company gave me some items, like the ugly purse and I forget what else. Then the company paid to replace items as they wore out. I think some companies give you an allowance every year to purchase different pieces.

Now it looks they are giving me a fixed amount and I can select what uniform pieces I want to wear. If these numbers are correct, I will be able to get everything that I had on my wish list.

Most airlines, ours included, pay for all of the required pieces. Except when you are first hired. We pay for our uniform then. Any items needed due to wear and tear are replaced at the companies expense. However, we do run into issuses as to what constitutes normal wear and tear.

I just looked at the catalog and I think I'm going to order the men's uniform. The guy's look great.
What did they do to the women's blazer? I've never seen anything quite like it. Yuck!!

Well, I put a whole bunch together and still only came to $788.35.

I was just picking stuff to up the price.......$850.00 is plenty.......

13 shirts (long and short sleeve)
3 pants
1 Blazer
1 zip jacket
1 vest
2 ties
1 All weather coat
1 Rain Coat
1 Apron
1 belt
1 zip sweater
-------------------------
Total: $788.35

I wouldn't even wear half of these things

But, if I remember correctly....if you don't spend it you lose it

So, SPEND IT!!!!!!!!

"1 scarf (tie/scarf will be required uniform items for transatlantic/ transpacific)."

Uggh, I hate scarfs. Will they send me home at 3 a.m. when they quick call me because I forgot my scarf?

Oh well, not like I get these trips often.

Required to buy but NOT required to wear. 🙄 If your NOT required to wear it then why be REQUIRED to buy it. Stupidity at it's best.
