Phoenix Picket Info
When: Tuesday, October 31, 2006
Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Where: Terminal 4 Sky Harbor Airport
Fellow US Airways Flight Attendants will picket and protest on Halloween at the US Airways bases in Boston, Charlotte, New York – LaGuardia, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington, DC. Stay tuned for upcoming e-lines and updates on specific times and locations at these bases.
We will protest the same old "nothing-for-labor" tricks by the management team of US Airways, and will begin to protest management's empty promises and no-cost-increase contract rhetoric.
Doug Parker, Scott Kirby, and other top executives pocketed multi-million dollar treats for themselves with stock option payouts, while telling low-wage flight attendants that there is no money for their contract. It’s all tricks and no treats for the flight attendants!
Flight Attendants at America West Airlines are among the lowest paid in the industry and US Airways Flight Attendants have endured years of painful concessionary wage and benefit cuts.
If management is successful in their no cost contract rhetoric it would mean further cuts in contract benefits and pay to America West Flight Attendants and US Airways Flight Attendants.
The successful merger between America West Airlines and US Airways can not be complete without reaching a fair and industry competitive single contract for all flight attendants of the new US Airways.
Flight Attendants from Northwest Airlines will join our picket as a sign of Solidarity in the fight against corporate greed and we will conclude our Halloween protest by joining with our fellow NWA union brothers and sisters in a Solidarity CHAOS Informational Picket at Terminal 3 from 11:15-12:00 noon.
Additional Informational Picketing and other Solidarity Events will be scheduled in the upcoming months.
