They're also being furloughed because their MEC brain trust wouldn't take our LOS offer last February. We gave them a chance to save all their pre-merger pilots from furlough, but they sent it all down wye river.

LOS? =That wouldn't have fit in at all well with the high ideals and "Integrity" inherent in "Ho Ho Ho! St Nic is coming to town!", much less "I want the captain seat..and most of all, I want every single east pilot to pay for it"...etc, ad nauseum. One wonders how that's explained to those unfortunates set for furlough out west. I'd imagine that the summary amounts to "It's all the evil easties' fault!". Ah well...barring a cadre of over-aged phone and mailing delinquents, one fake "war hero", and sublimely noble individuals that apparently can't fly safely with any evil east person on their jumpseat...at least their "Integrity" is intact.

What a sad and sorry business overall.
 
So I'm traveling to work yesterday from PHX...at the gate I'm met by the CA and FO who are working the flight. I've flown with the CA before so we catch up. He's a little distracted...I ask why.

Seems he and his FO were verbally confronted by a west FO in the concourse...

" you reap what you sow..." he said, and then ran around a corner only to return a minute later and asks " so how do you like B scale?..." and then slithers away again.

The East Captain tells the young copilot that if he wants to challenge him in some way to talk to him face to face.

Young copilot with red lanyard disappears down the corridor.

I guess the young lad is getting FUR...'cause if he's not, he's gonna get fired the next time it happens...

So I'm traveling to work yesterday from PHX...at the gate I'm met by the CA and FO who are working the flight. I've flown with the CA before so we catch up. He's a little distracted...I ask why.

" you reap what you sow..." he said, and then ran around a corner only to return a minute later and asks " so how do you like B scale?..." and then slithers away again.

The East Captain tells the young copilot that if he wants to challenge him in some way to talk to him face to face.

Young copilot with red lanyard disappears down the corridor.

I guess the young lad is getting FUR...'cause if he's not, he's gonna get fired the next time it happens...

Typical of the "Integrity Matters" crowd. Except for the matter of scale, the tactic is little different than that of a roadside bomber.

Like lets say that Tempe gets a WONDEFUL idea that LGA is no longer profitable and drags it down to "right size it with the market", ala PIT. :censored: Would the LGA guys then get laid off vs bump & flush into the domiciles?

The fences, when they are formulated, will not fence every domicile from every other domicile. The fences are designed to protect west flying from east pilots, and east flying from west pilots, for a period of time to be determined in the contract.

If the company decided to shut LGA down, it doesn't mean the LGA based pilots get furloughed any more than it means that the airplanes that support that LGA flying go to the desert. The airplanes will still be flying, and (so far) those airplanes require pilots to fly them. The LGA pilots would simply get absorbed into other bases.

With "a la PIT," you answered your own question. When the PIT based closed, the PIT pilots did not get furloughed.

Scary threat! Have you got the law suit all warmed up ready to file?

Should she be looking for a new job according to your definition of harassment in the work place?

As for you and the "chubby east FA"...do what you feel is appropriate...if she trampled your sensitive nature, act on it.

I thought that your point was harassment in the work place. I did not mention AWAPPA, USAPA, ALPA, none of the players, you did. This is a company thing. Unless you think that the dictator Bradford now has the power to fire employees.

My point is that your east guys are not pure as the driven snow. And the harassment is also coming from the east. Talk about delicate sensibilities. You immediately want this guys fired. Thin skin I would say.

I would certainly say that disciplinary action would be in order for that type of thing. There is NO excuse for employees conducting themselves in any unprofessional manner towards each other at the workplace.

In the wake of your loudest champion for "INTEGRITY MATTERS", the phoney "war hero"..I find it almost impossible to have any real, or even residual respect for your group as a whole, but you'll never see any indication of that from me, while on the job. In truth; I'm sure that there are a lot of decent people within your ranks that aren't conducting themselves as adolescent buffoons. I will always extend the courtesy of assuming that I'm encountering the decent sorts, unless proven otherwise by their actions.

Somehow...I'm not really surprised by hearing of that sort of behavior anymore..and no; you're not allowed to simply spank them and call their parents. 🙄

I really know why I would never get on a US Air aircraft. Unsafe to fly with these idiots who could not pass a mental fitness exam. I blame both parties, downright morons.
 
well, I find no fault with the 50+ year old Captain asking the kid to talk to him face to face...it's not like he was gonna fight the kid there in the concourse...he has too much to lose...
