Unionization

Well what do you expect after two trips to bankruptcy and three rounds of concessions?
If this your excuse for being close to the bottom of the payscale, I am convinced you are management

Looking in the mirror?

If I made a mistake I can admit it, I am checking on the certification date.

And I have been nothing but forthright in my posts, can you say the same?

All you are is a hater who cant take responsibility.

There were three agreements reached for fleet, one in 1995 which was not voted, one in 1999 that was rejected and another in 1999 that was ratified.

700,
as IAM members lost thousands of jobs, wages, benefits, the IAM district gave big salary increases and hired more goons.
Post 911 meant 'Big fat raises' for IAM district officers.

regards,

And your stock clerks at HP make $12.00 and hour at US they make $16.67.

And what about GSE at HP, they don't make the same as an AMT, at US GSE and AMT are paid the
same.

Once again, compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges.

if you want to be accurate, are the us gse's amt's doing the job of gse, where as hp's gse's are not amt's, so that would explain why they get amt wages, where as hp's gse's would not turn down the increase, most amt's do not want any group making the same as them if they are not a licensed amt. note that at hp the gse mech, unless he his a licensed amt, can not bid into another location in the unit!!!!

At East there are plenty of GSE that are not AMTs.

At west you treat your GSE as second class citizens.

A GSE Licensed Mechanic is a Professional and I have total respect for any person who betters them self and goes out to become a Licensed Professional Ground Support Equipment Mechanic.
I also can use common sense and see that a AMT/A&P is a Licensed Professional Aircraft Mechanic and requires Much more School and Training and Responsibilities than other Mechanic’s Fields.

If you use Common Sense and use your fruit rating.
A Ground Support Equipment Mechanic is an apple.
An Aircraft Mechanic is an orange.
And a Stock Clerk is a kumquat.

([quote name='700UW' You treat your GSE as second class citizens.) Can you prove this or is this more IAM propaganda?

Common Sense this is what is missing from the AIRLINE WORLD.

According to the IAM Transportation Dept the NMB Certified the IAM in 1995.

Why do you insist on misinformation?
In a previous post 700 said ramp voted in iam in 1995. Now he says the iam was certified in 1995. Tim and others correctly stated ramp VOTED iam in 1994.

As usual 700, dont let the facts get in your way. Just another example of iam misinformation.

There are some of us that have been working to improve the lot of the GSE Tech

they do appreciate your hard work, They believe that most, if not all gse on the east are amt's doing the work. can any amt bid into a gse spot??????

Yes an AMT can bid into a GSE job.

Done to improve the GSE at HP?

That is funny they make less money then the East GSE mechs and you have not held negotiations in months with the company.

That is way too funny.

It is because of the merger that there has been no progress and you know that. sheez what a maroon.

The issue of Payscales is where the unions dropped the ball and will never catch up! Thanks to the unions AMT's are not classified as skilled labor. Why is it that a 20year airline experienced mechanic who is at the top of the payscale at say United and gets laid off goes to work for U has to start at the bottom of the payscale this is where the unions have totally failed!! And yes an AMT can bid a GSE position he receives no license pay. For a staunch union man such as yourself why do you think the sitiuation is funny! Will it be funny in 09 when the company want negoiate with either the IAM or IBT whoever it may be!

NO WAY should a mechanic without a ASE licence bump out a Professional Gound Service Mechanic.
And you say we at AWA treat our GSE as second class?????????

You and the IAM need to get a grip,we at IBT UNDERSTAND that the GSE Mechanic is a Professional AND UNDER THE IBT CONTRACT A A&P/AMT CANT BUMP OUT A GES AS IT IS NOT UNDER our contract so the GSE HOLDS HIS JOB.....

GSE has a license and a AMT/A&P TAKES HIS OR her JOB LOOKS LIKE A SCAB IN A WAY LOL...

NOT AT IBT YOU ONLY CAN GET THE JOB IF YOU APPLY FOR THE JOB AND PASS THE INTERVIEW.

(Done to improve the GSE at HP?)
OUR GSE IS TOP OF ITS FIELD!!!!!!POST YOUR meaning of (Done to improve the GSE at HP?)

You know in the IBT here at UPS our stock clerks are at $ 21.29 per hour  Very awesome benefits
I bet it did not take no 50 years to get that $21.29 per hour for stock clerks with the IBT now did it lol... 🙄
You know that is almost what the east IAM AMT's make and we as IBT AMT's Make almost a dollar more than they do.
Some one on here posted that the AWA techs set the low pay scale but as I see the IAM usair east has set the lowest pay.
What do you think brown??????

I bet it did not take no 50 years to get that $21.29 per hour for stock clerks with the IBT now did it lol...

when we sit down to negotiate the man says "I got this much for the mech/stock/utility classes....you split it up the way you want".
so you get $21 for a stockie and then tell me how the heck you can get $30 for yourself? the pie has only so many cuts my friend.
you berate over class and craft but now you combine and compare......which do you want?
NO WAY should a mechanic without a ASE licence bump out a Professional Gound Service Mechanic.
ASE licenses are a dime a dozen...I prepped for those tests and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to pass them...in fact most AMT's could probably pass without studying.

how do you feel about licensed AMT bumping senior repairman certificate or vice versa?? out the door? 😱
