Us Airways Afa President Wants Airline To Ease Up

Uncle Jerry is just going to tell Teddy to talk to the hand.........

The response will clarify whether the company intends to be an independent going concern or not.

Talk to the hand is exactly what has put U into this present situation.

Thank God that Ms.Xidas is doing what she's being paid to do...which is representing those that put her in that office.

I have said time again...if I'm going have to pay to be represented and retain a job...Teddy is exactly the person I would want to do the representing. If the IAM and ALPA had half the you know whats that Teddy obviously does....maybe things would be a damn sight different than they are at present.

I'm not about to defend people that call in sick when not..and I'm not about to defend habitual tardiness for a moment...but if mitigating circumstances beyond the employee's control present themselves?...then maybe the policies need to be looked at on an individual basis as opposed to an across the board excuse to chop off heads for the sake of doing so.

MS Teddy is doing what she does best... she loves the cam and mic even though it may not like her.

I can't disagree but obviously having a set of gonads didn't stop the slaughter of so many employees and like George A. Custer was wiped out by the Sioux and Cheyenne warriors the U employees are being slaughtered. Yep, having intestinal fortitude unfortunately just does not matter in this situation now does it.

One person will not change the destiny of the airlines and it’s once great jobs and like all the other once great jobs in this country that Corporate America outsourced or otherwise eliminated it will not be stopped by a single person. A real revolution is needed by the American workers least we, labor become no different than a third world citizen struggling to survive.

Wages rock bottom, pensions gone, health insurance if one is lucky enough to have it, sky high. The very rich and the very poor is where this country is heading and fast.

Unless you happen to have taken a furlough recently. 15-20 year people got nothing during the recent negotiations. And why do they get nothing, you might ask? Because they don't have a vote (voice) while on furlough.

The way she and the other leaders sold these people down the river is shameful.

EASE UP?..........That's NOT good enough.

2001 <----------9-11-01
2002 <----------ROUND ONE
2003 <----------ROUND TWO
2004 <----------ROUND THREE!!!

......This has been as hard as dealing with a DEATH IN THE FAMILY. THE STRESS of uncertainty has taken a toll on MOST employees. Financial hardships, adjusting to less PAY, living with less AND working harder has been a HUGE SACRIFICE by every employee!
FOR MANY EMPLOYEES, THEY CAME TO THIS COMPANY FOR SEVERAL REASONS, pay and working conditions, a great place to work, and managment that was reasonable and worked with labor. And in turn, LABOR RALLIED BEHIND THE COMPANY. Mr Colodny built alot of that corporate culture, WHY WAS IT TORN DOWN? Worse yet, employees have had to apologize, do without, work around and fix MANAGEMENT "INDUCED" problems. Anyone remember when it was a pleasure to come to work? Not just go through the motions!
Look at JETBLUE, they have consciously made the WORKING ENVIRONMENT a PLEASANT PLACE TO BE even though their pay isnt industry leading. THEY GET IT.
THEY VALUE THE WELL BEING on their employees ON THE JOB.

CORPORATE CULTURE, CCY.

Will i say good luck!....but i think its pretty obvious the company wants most all real senior people out and they will take whatever act to accomplish this.

Blue,

To clarify your point.... 15-20 year people who have taken a VOLUNTARY furlough. You had a choice that 1700 involuntaries didn't have the luxury of, and in exercising that choice you voluntarily suspended your voting rights. Let's face it, most of you 15-20 year folks out on voluntary have no plans on coming back. You know it and the company knows it and the company would never agree to pay you folks to take a VFLR. You 15-20 year folks who took voluntaries couldn't stand the heat, so you got out of the galley. Well, the ones who stayed in the trenches, for whatever reason, are being rewarded. The involuntaries, who stood by and waited and waited and waited, and debated their options with MAA, and worked and reworked their budgets, and never let the flying bug leave the pits in their stomochs, hopefully will be rewarded. I have no sympathy, however, for the hoards of voluntaries who took voluntary offering after voluntary offering and unemployment compensation and years of flight benefits and are now upset that they can't avail themselves of the 10K.

Good day!

And I have no use for the executives who came on the property for mere months and raped labor doing nothing more but rape labor only to be rewarded mightily. That doesn't seem to merit even a small mention yet you blast the 15 to 20 year service employees for taking what in comparison is negligible advantage of a bad situation. We all know what side of the fence you live on.

You get no argument from me with respect to the executives, and if you read back on my posts you will see that I was in the forefront with my opposition and ojection to that. However, this post is about AFA, not Wolf and Gangwals $30+ million or Siegel's four and a half.

4 days under legitimate circumstances results in termination? Thats a great way to improve morale! Savy
