Luvn737, do you seriously believe this? Unlike the west pilots, the east pilots wouldn't go for this - they don't want your jobs. You don't see them on here saying ho ho ho..... or NLC's going to be pulling my gear for life. The east pilots don't want to take away your livelihood, they don't want your captain's seats.

Do we want more c/o seats? Absolutely, especially wide body, but not at your expense. You will have fences and protections high enough to guarantee this. And, you will probably have access to the east attrition and wide bodies based on DOH.

Oh I forgot, the east is all about keeping their word. The agreement to joint negotiations, the agreement to accept the arbitration ruling, their statements about wanting to represent west pilots, but never coming to PHX, their threatening letters which they think will earn them respect.

No, USAPA has made it quite clear that any representation from the west would be window dressing and any objections to how the fences would be implemented would be overruled, their concerns marginalized.

I don't listen to what they say. I watch what they have done.

I firmly believe that in my remaining career I will never see reconciliation between the east and west. This war has cut too deeply and the lack of trust will never be regained. You can choose to believe McIlvenna or not at your own peril, but he was right, there will never be labor peace at US Airways. The actions of the the east, in the past and going forward are establishing the working environment that will exist for years to come. I hope you have the collective stomach for 20+ years of animosity. It will never get better than it is today, regardless of empty east promises of, "We don't want your jobs, honest injun!" Some folks will retire, many will choose a better quality of life at another airline, some will allow the hostility to take it's toll on them, but the bulk will stay stuck here as either victims of tyranny or perpetrators.

Well...I've never been one to speak for "The entire world" at any level, but..as regards the "Righteous" pursuit of Nic?..a recently retired, and well Decorated younger comrade, with 30 years USAF..noted the folloiwng = "Just who do those punks think they are!!??" That's a sentiment I've not found the least bit unique among my contemporaries, both military and civilian....so...I'm not really sure just what part of "The aviation community" you're addressing...perhaps you can enlighten us all?

As for the aviation community I speak of....No I don't speaK For everyone, only those I have come across since April 17. You see, I commute to the east coast on any other airline except Us Airways unless I can catch a west flight. EVERY captain I have requested a jumpseat from, and I mean EVERY, has asked whether I was an east or west pilot. The common consensus being that they can't tolerate the east pilots in close proximity. The east pilots must have an awful time getting to work these days.

Regarding the decorated USAF verteran calling the west pilots punks. I, too, am a decorated USAF veteran and none of my peers go around calling other pilots punks. They do, however, recognize a severe lack of integrity and honor and won't hesitate to let you know how they feel about you.

The east's brilliant strategy is working better than that of the west's. For now. If the east actually succeeds, and I doubt they will, the west will accept that and go on with life once they have exhausted every avenue to do the right thing. The difference between these two groups is that regardless of the outcome the men and women on the west know that they exemplify integrity. The aviation community respects them.


Is this manifestation of integrity take place between mailing samples of stool, or deliberately clogging up USAPA's phone lines, or filing bogus grievances, or strutting around the terminal with USAPA=SCAB on your flight bags, or denying east jumpseat riders???

EVERY time I jumpseat I am questioned whether I am east or west and nobody appears to like the east.

tazz, other airlines are aware of what's happening over here and I haven't heard of them denying a jumpseat to any US Airways pilot. The only ones denying jumpseat are a small handful of fools out West.
