Well, I can think of several things better than that....but just as an example: a 3 day trip to Athens, Greece that pays 21:30.

Much more class than your round trip to San Jose and back.....regional airline flying.

BlackSwan took a jab at the west with a ridiculous real estate analogy, that I picked apart multiple times. Then he changed his story and his assertions and resorted to name calling.

EOA asked me a straight forward question, with a wise a$$ comment of not getting a serious answer from a United guy. I gave him a complete, straight forward, serious answer. He didn't like the answer since it didn't conform to his preconceptions. The result? He ignored it, and resorted to name calling.

Are you seeing a pattern here?

As for M, we all know his routine. And sumadarson was one of the worst offenders, who has magically disappeared. (Thankfully)

So... tell me again who is being the prick. The bullies and name callers? Or those who stand up to the bullies and name callers with facts, and shine a light on the lies for all to see?

It seems like once again, the idea of being "fair" only applies when defending an east pilot.

Of course the decision will be final and binding. It is done under the RLA, and is a federal arbitration, as opposed to an internal private union process.

AW was than US NIC said so.....U guys would get a whopping 22mil per year more under the AW contract ....WOW....

All I can tell you is I have more friends in low places then you have friends in high.

Ask an intelligent question and I'll give you an intelligent response....not that coming from you any question would require any answer, btw. Your United and you have your own issues, obviously.

The East pilots have no more respect for your opinion anymore than West pilots have for East opinions. The only FINAL AND BINDING outcome from this WHOLE ISSUE will be if and when we have ANY CBA to vote on. Until then, tell your United buddies at ALPA "goodbye from us"!

You can pretend to be a real pilot all you want....your still at the bottom of the trash heap and that's all you'll ever be over at United....the Continental pilots are going to chop you up and spit you out like old chewing tobacco. One year and counting...no JCBA yet.

My view of the world is in the left seat of the Airbus. Looking at you and your United-Continental system seems you're in for a stormy ride. Smoother sailing over here. Too bad we have to undo years of ALPA setbacks to right the labor ship.

Your logic just baffles me. The west pilots want to stay in PHX. Only a small portion want to move to the east coast. If we stay here we don't have to sell our houses so who cares what the value is. Only if we are forced out by a bad contract or seniority would it matter.

I don't live on the value of my house. My payments are quite manageable and I don't plan on retiring for a long time. Besides retiring in PHX sounds pretty good to me. How many of you east boys are looking for this PHX domicile?

It is all interrelated Clear. See, you constantly imply we are sliding into poverty with LOA 93 wages, and my counter is this- you are most likely sliding faster into financial ruin owning property in PHX. I would imagine many of the west pilots are loaded up on housing debt, and are seriously underwater. Thus the quest for the Nic and a contract NOW. This explains a lot of the desperation and taunting of LOA 93. It is driven by your situation with your housing. This is my counter to the LOA 93 poverty mantra. You claim we are sliding into poverty, I counter that you and yours have many, many members in the underwater club in PHX. This is not just pilot issues tied to LOA 93, This is the entire scope, and apparently you are not happy with it.

Las Vegas housing analyst Dennis Smith says it may be 2004 all over again for the valley’s housing market.
No, he’s not saying home prices will rapidly appreciate as they did that year and in 2005.
Smith says it won’t be long before prices return to the levels of late 2004 when it comes to the existing home market.
We didn’t have long to wait.
The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors [GLVAR] has released their October numbers. Las Vegas, welcome back to 2004.
Prices
The median price for a single-family home in October was $274,725. This is the lowest the median price has been since May 2004 when the median price was at $266,000. Appreciation is down 4% month-to-month and down 11% year-over-year- the largest year-over-year decline we’ve seen since the market started declining:

Yet you still can't admit that your assertion that dropping home values would prevent a person from retireing was false. As was your claim of being upside down on a property you own, which is in impossibility by definition. And the Anvil analogy. Let's review shall we... Your jab only applies to someone selling their home and relocating to a more expensive market, a person unable to service their loan, or a person relying on their home equity to finance their retirement. Yet you can not provide evidence that ANY west pilots fall into those categories.

PS, anyone downsizing in PHX in retirement, can still cash out a sizable amount if they stay in PHX, albeit a smaller amount than at the housing peak, since the decline affects all homes in the market equally. But a sizable amount none the less.

You really make it too easy to invalidate your claims. I'm done with the fun. But you may want to come up with a new jab against the west.

As the Phoenix-area housing market's shift from boom to bust approaches its fifth anniversary, a number of real-estate analysts have replaced optimistic terms such as "recovery" with sobering talk of a new market reality.

The landscape of tomorrow's housing market, as depicted in recent research papers and forecast meetings, is only a rough sketch, but three notable features have taken shape.

Foremost among them is a much higher ratio of renters to homeowners than the Phoenix area has seen in recent decades.


Another long-term problem, they said, is the large number of struggling borrowers trapped in high-end homes for which there are virtually no eligible buyers.

Perhaps the most troubling long-term prediction is that certain pockets of less-desirable residential development simply will not recover.

Trouble by the numbers

Home sales and prices began to stall in mid-2006, but the collapse of the metro Phoenix market gained momentum in the latter half of 2007, when a disturbing trend emerged among recent homebuyers.

There was a sudden jump in mortgage-loan defaults, which came as no surprise to those aware that constant home-value appreciation had been essential to the viability of certain loans being approved for first-time buyers.

Popular mortgages issued during the housing boom were adjustable-rate loans structured to start off with lower monthly payments that would increase over time.
