Cleaning them is!
700 UW You are right, no pilot should have cleaned. Now, the more important issue you should be grinding your axe about. How did you guys get totally replaced off the airline??? That is the one that is of real import. You are going crazy because a few guys maybe picked up a little trash. OK, not good. But who voted you off the airline???? That is your real concern.

Here we are. Reminds me of 1863 and the Civil War. July 4th 1863 to be specific. A long war, with some wins on both sides. But a big battle, 3 days has just gone down. Gettysburg. The south fought a good battle, but they have just lost a massive amount of humans, and used up every bit of artillery ordinance they had. In fact, what they had did not work very well in the battle. The south has moved back across the Potomac, and into their homeland again. The northern thrust, designed to display the fact they could go on the road to the north and win, was just thwarted. The supplies they thought they would garner? Gone. They still had the ability to wage battle, but not to win a war. That, was taken on those three days. The generals knew it. Longstreet especially. Gone were a lot of the generals needed to continue the fight. They lay on the Pennsylvania earth. Cold.Gone was the threat to Washington. Now Richmond itself was in danger.

The war could go on, and it did. Until April 1865. But did it do any good? No. Thousands more would die, and more money spent for nothing except a future lesson in history.

The west has a choice now. You can keep funding Leonidas, and keep suing, or you can come together with the East pilots and hammer out a contract that will protect you and provide everyone with much needed money. Of course you can sue. It will take years and thousands. And unless you know something the East pilots and Parker himself don't with regard to bargaining agents and arbitration, you will lose. It will just take time to prove it. Years.
The downside is this, just like the North in the Civil War-time is our friend. If we win the LOA 93 deal, you have just opened the door to the fact the east pilots will just coast, and fight the war on and on. Why not? The attrition and the hiring are going to provide some very nice upside. And the new hires will align with the east because they will hire into the LOA 93 pay scale. If we lose LOA 93, then we take the attrition and keep going in the fight. This is what you are up against. Your choice. As far as the Nicolau, well, if you really don't believe me, just watch that crew video again. When your CEO himself says "This is for you guys to decide......" I think even he knows what is coming.

What would stop Parker from "disputing" the arbitrator's decision? Just like the eastholes are "disputing" another arbitrator's decision.
Ames, this is what continues to get the west in the trouble they are in right now. You just don't get it with bargaining agents, and a company's obligation with same versus a company in a dispute with its' employees. One is an internal union dispute, the other a dispute between a company and a union. Get it now? Read Baptiste and Wilder RLA blog. This is getting old!

You get your information from internet blogs.... What a surprise. I have my facts straight and am quite confident in my position.

I about fell off my chair laughing when I read this....

And just where do YOU get your information? I hope it's not from AOL or a certain legal team in Phoenix, known to be wrong on many issues and obviously not very knowledgeable in RLA matters. 😛

This a perfect example of why this thing is going to drag on. Just like the Japanese soldiers from WW2 in those remote Pacific atolls, the ones they found in the 60's still at their posts.

Good one!!!! I definitely agree with you!

If those guys really are ALPA shills, as they seem to be, they'd better start paying attention to their own issues. If not, ALPA may be losing many more dues paying members. Things aren't so hunky-dorry in ALPAland.
