Boeing Boy and the others miss a lot of the good intel by not being on the property. Was through CLT CQT last month and you would not believe the number of guys that are NOT planning to go to 65. The party starts sooner that you think! 😀On a lighter note April , 2013 a huge retirement bash invite only, the donations are flowing in! My moneys on the party! MM!
SWAN, heard the same, shame, "our monies on you" party can't get started earlier ! MM!Boeing Boy and the others miss a lot of the good intel by not being on the property. That is a scumbag thing to do... if you want to interject your "opinion" about it... post the quote as was stated... then make your stupid statement yourself!
Why are you surprised at such scumbag things coming out of the west?
What intrigues me is why, if this guy is so upset with USAPA that he has to change someone else's quote to make his point, does he/she stop making any of those assessments and dues payments to USAPA?
After all....we heard for months from those west folks that no one has ever been fired from the airline for non-payment of dues or fees. (Wonder why we haven't heard that for quite some time?) This would be a perfect opportunity for the poster who can't even come up with a quote of his/her own to play the perfect foil for USAPA by refusing to pay any money at all to them.
The original poster has every right to correct his own posts. You do not have the right to change someone else's post under the guise of "fiixing" it.I didn't interject my "opinion" into it. With the exception of changing ALPA to USAPA, I quoted it directly. If the original poster elected to go back and edit HIS comment after I quoted him, go rattle sabers with him.

You are correct. The training department was recently told to plan for 600 recall/new hires in the next three years 2011-2013. The East recall list is exhausted and they are trying to fill classes with West recalls to the E190 now. Letters are going out to a pool of 25 pilots left over from previous hiring to start as East new hires in early 2011. Pilot recruiting has started and a lady East F/O IP with previous pilot hiring experience will be in charge of the pilot hiring.Boeing Boy and the others miss a lot of the good intel by not being on the property. As #4 stated: a big difference between 57 - 60 and 63 - 65.
In the past, a pilot leaving on LTD had a 75% chance of returning. Now, at 60+ the numbers are far less which is driving the hiring news ( for the East ).
Don't forget, a pilot retiring today will not create a vacancy until a new bid is run ....
But, as my shiny AOL pamphlet sent to my company address informs me - it's F/O's and sick leaves anyway so nothing to see here.
Hate, there were also F/A's there that were out 10 yrs. and coming back. They are at the end of the line with that group also. I was told by a check airman that they are trying to nail down the staffing now, and try to get a good fix on how many they are expecting to put through shortly. The check pilots right now are somewhat slack on duty, as there is a lot of job spreading with the use of seat filler check pilots to keep them busy. They do not want to get rid of any because they said they know what is coming, and it is a bunch of new people. I don't know what the west is waiting for, they are going to inherit a bunch of seats if they are patient, and give up the windfall that is unattainable. Any way, if they don't want the positions, then we will see them filled with new hires, and the upward march that was inevitable, is going to start east. The older ranks are starting to thin. Guys are just not willing to hang out if they feel a contract is not coming soon. They have had enough, so the younger guys are going to see the move. And I am sure the new hires are going to side with the west in a voting block, and have them move in! The voting numbers are only going to get worse for them. All the risk is on the west side! J. Freund tried to tell the younger and smarter west pilots. And as usual they didn't listen.
The east will have to hire 200 pilots per year just to keep up with the attrition. The east will lose more than 2800 pilots in the next 14 years due to mandatory age 65 retirement. The attrition train is leaving the station. The east has over 500 pilots out on medicals right now and that number will grow as we all age.
Just waiting for the next bid..........
