US Pilots Labor Discussion

Seriously Bean,

First a question. At exactly what time did we ever need these scabs to completely f up everything they have touched?

We are currently the lowest paid, under injunction, crappy work rules, no merger fund, POS pilots group in the industry because of these scabs.

What do you think Cleary was briefed on in Tempe during the United merger attempt that sent him running off to the 9th asking them for an "emergency" ruling.

These scabs screwed up that deal, and they are not going to be a part of any future deals.

Music is a usapa scab first class, and will be thrown on the trash heep with the rest of them.

IN YOUR HUMBLE OPINION.....ONLY!

What if it's true and Parker offers a Delta +3% contract. Do we want someone who would refuse that if it didn't include DOH.

Good questions Bean. For the half-cent/one-vote it's worth; I simply can't vote for a nic inclusive contract on principal...period. Having said that; I believe it's the duty of any union to strive to maximize wages/benefits/etc for it's members, and to afford the membership the right to vote on any/all truly significant issues. Were Parker to offer a non-nic based contract that provided Delta +3%, I'd think it'd be very easily passed. With nic?...I honestly don't know, with any actual certainty, how it would shake out in the east. I should note that my "Guess" is that it wouldn't pass. Despite all the chat room "debate" and "certainty" as to legal issues/outcomes....well....we none of us really know what type of "deal" might be worked with American. Consider the sly manner in which US change of control language was thwarted last time. The only rational certainty is that management is lusting to do a deal, and that our employee concerns aren't even a blip on their radar, unless they could prove troublesome to consummating said deal.

Addendum: Should it seem ludicrous to even assume any potential "NO!" vote from the east on even Delta+3, FatherAbraham nails a very salient point: "Mergers create job losses as a rule. We all know this. Trick is, not being the casualty. Historically, the most junior is at risk." With Nic?....A lot of folks would feel they were, very likely, voting themselves out of a job, for a perhaps only very brief period of semi-decent pay.

OK, a few questions then:

1) What if the courts tell US they are liable if they use a list other than the NIC? Still a no.....period?

2) What if the courts tell US they can accept a list other than the NIC and the list they present is not the NIC and not DOH?

Bean

Okay guys and/or gals:

1) I don't think you're properly using the word, "scab," although I could be wrong.

2) As long I'm not selling any of my fellow west pilots down the river, I don't see what's wrong with trying to converse with east pilots.

Bean

1) No, you're not wrong.

2) Good idea.

That question makes no sense. The eastholes will try to fukc this up regardless, it's their nature

1) For me personally? = Yes. As much derision as has been forwarded for that...I'm stuck with personal principal there. Fairness to discussion notes that I'm but a single vote.

2) I certainly can't speak for my fellows, but I'd think that would open up an opportunity for forward progress....again though; I'm guessing there, and offer no pretense as to knowing the minds of all others. It seems reasonable to me to assume that some have grown tired of all this insane infighting. I doubt that nearly enough are ready to surrender to nic though...and may well never be.

Not meaning to poke any sticks, but; would you not feel it reasonable to assume at least some on your side are sick of this situation as well?

Sigh! It always provides both tremendous cognitive enhancement and, of course, a joyous, spiritual lift, whenever so very blessed and privileged as to gain such highly evolved entities actually deigning to engage in conversation....

Your vast wisdom and insight is naturally appreciated.....

Why don't you answer the question instead of that verbal diarrhea?

Bean,

Above westie reply's are why the East majority ( IMO ) is so far outnumbered in post in recent times.
Really kinda stupid to offer up a 2 word post with a smiley face relaying my pleasure , only to subject myself to attacks by those who must be really concerned about outcome of Nic. Why else all the emotion?

Mergers create job losses as a rule. We all know this. Trick is, not being the casualty. Historically , the most junior is at risk.
Hence all the concern by all. Best of luck to all. I truly hope the AA sli does not happen, as many will suffer and I don't want anyone to lose a job regardless of Nic stance.

FA
You're far outnumbered in posts because on inane east post generates 5 or so corrections. Remember the post you made about Music winning? Great example of a dumb post.

Oh, here ya go:

Jamie A. Weidner       335      45.45

Stephen Whiting          59        8.01

Paul D. Music             343      46.54

I will answer....

1st of all, Silver could rule against the NIC.

2nd......the NIC does not go into effect until a single contract is voted in.....therefore "our" say in the matter.

3rd......with AA slotting, you guys will suffer the most, regardless of the NIC ruling, but only for 5 yrs until a bunch of us retire. As with the original arguement.....after a few more years, the airline will be yours......only now deluted by the 9000 AA pilots.

It will all come down to what Parker offers. He has always been in control and has lined his pockets with our dispute. You are a fool if you think Parker gives a rat's ### about you or me.

Oh!...I must apologize, it seems. Had you actually read it: "The only rational certainty is that management is lusting to do a deal, and that our employee concerns aren't even a blip on their radar, unless they could prove troublesome to consummating said deal."

At no point did/do I assume the employees here will, or necessarily even can, throw a large enough monkey wrench into any deal.

Ummm...sorry if I offended you by not first translating that down into "Dumbass" for your more ready comprehension.

It briefly looked like actual conversation was possible here. Enough of this....
