How many Tulsa AMTs do you think could afford the areas like NY LA Chicago MIA etc
My bet is less then half
Not much bumping would happen thats my bet.
unless they are willing to take a 30K pay cut

And you must be one of those guys who would actaully enjoy seeing people lose thier jobs just so you could get a good laugh. Don't forget about AFW and MCIE. Those bases would close as well. So let's crunch your numbers. Let's say that 1/3 of the base AMT's bump. Off the top of my head that's around 2000. That's 2000 line mechanics that will be out on the street. Now maybe you have enough senority that you would survive so you really don't care. However there are others that do not have that luxury.

Personally I think more guys would bump. In the past guys at AFW and TUL have took the layoff thinking they'll just wait for recall. In the event of AA chucking their heavy maintenance that option would be gone. Therefore you would see a lot of guys with a number of years invested but not enough to retire bitting the bullet and moving.

We will not preform ANY Struck Work!
That is our position on all contracts we accept.. AA can talk to who ever they want, they know that we will not do the work if it is Struck.


We have told AA this and they agree to not do this again.

Come on everybody PlayTheOdds is just trying to yank peoples chains. Afterall he would have to be brain dead to think he could come off the street to work the winglet mod. The mod is not being dome by fly by night contractors who make there living going job to job living out of hotle roome. It's being done by AA AMT's who go home every night. Also the ex-TWA AMT's are at MCIE, not TUL. If PlayTheOdds knew what he was talking about he would know this.

you dont deserve my reply but just this once, i am working the winglet mod and there are no ex twa'ers just us natives. belive me you would not fit in(or last very long here).
