Lets not forget the starving babies in China either.

What does UAL, who by the way make more than we do, have to do with our joke of an increase?

By the way Inflation is running ay over 3% so in fact we really took another 1.5% paycut.

Don't forget the major increase in healthcare costs for 2005.

How much of a raise in the current economic environment would make you happy, Bob?

(opening the gas can, beginning to pour.....look out everyone!!!)

I don't know about other work groups, what made AA happy was taking away the $.01 an hour longevity pay from TWU members. THAT'S RIGHT! ONE PENNY AN HOUR PER YEAR OF SERVICE!

I bet that made AA very happy in these economic times.

Hey, if you don't want the 1.5%, donate it to charity and quit your bitching already. At least it isn't another pay cut, which all the naysayers around here were predicting the company to be asking for in April.

Amen.

I already used mine.

The first trip to Walgreens pharmacy for prescription drugs consumed more out of my pocket than the 1.5%.

1.5% is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. That is what we got a US........

I voted for whiskey and women but since this is 2005 and not 1865 I'm SOL on both.

i have been laid off since dec and i would love to have that raise. i am no company person. just wanted to get that out of the way before people start calling me a company kiss ass. but let me tell you something out of experience. there are no jobs out there. and if you expect to be paid what your being paid at aa if you get laid off you have another thing coming. i am living off of 220 dollars a week unemployment. it seems like the good paying jobs are all going over seas. and according to bush those are jobs we dont want anyway. but i am looking into the jobs of the 21st century that bush says we should train for. i am already ahead on my training, been practicing at home want to hear. all i have to learn is to say " you want fries with that big mac".

I have somthing to say,and it may be a little heavy for you AMFA freaks. I was talking to the guys in the hanger yesterday about what else , the impending layoffs, the loud mouth AMFA supporters of yesterday are all silent . What the heck guys you had all the answers before, well I,m waiting for the almighty DELL or MCFARLANE ( sorry steve if that is spelled incorrectly) to come to the rescue with the power of the almighty mechanics. Well the very LOUDMOUTHS who had all the complaints and all the answers, you know what thier new battle cry is? I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS F#%&*'N PLACE. I think thats just another way opf saying OH ####, but I'm to proud or stupid to admit that I took you all down wit me. I have a lot of friends on the street already, and let me tell you somthing they found out that might make it a little bit better for you who about to enter the job market. Nobody cares that you are an almighty airline technition!!!!! ,and good luck even finding the 29.70 that we all agree wasn't good enough for us with the IAM. not to mention the 4,5,6,or 7 weeks of vacation. the thing that really pisses me off is that you assholes took some good people and put them on the street with out so much as even a little fight. These same people that told the IAM to shove that last contract are walking around work now saying things like, I have a line on a job that pays 22.00$ and they are all happy saying, at least I wont have to put up with this F#%$ed up company . well let me tell you a little secret try to take a couple of sickers in conjuction with a weakend somewhere else and the second time you do that they'll throw you out on your ear. The IAM did a pretty good job getting all these benny's and you'll all find out just how good you had it when you are out looking for a job in the real world.

I'd be more than happy to accept the raise of any of you that make small talk of it. Surely not all making light of the raise are AMFA supporters, or are they?

Maybe those of us who are "lucky" enough to still have jobs should voluntary give up our pensions, beg for further paycuts, pay more for our medical.

Do any of you know the meaning of "class warfare?" The government defends outsourcing because it's cheaper. They want to keep wages down. Companies defend it because it's cheaper. they too want to keep wages down.

WHY?

So they continually beat this into your heads so you'll say "HEY, I'M LUCKY TO HAVE A JOB.

There's nothing out there for these poor working bastards, so they'll take whatever we shove up their rectums because "HEY, THEY'RE LUCKY TO HAVE JOBS!"

Let's see, 1.5% increase for a mechanic is $.38 an hour which equals $15.20 per week which equals $790.40 a year.

Let's see, 1.5% increase for a pilot making $150,000.00, or $12,500 a month equals $2250 a year.

Let's see, 1.5% increase for Arpey's annual salary of $515,587 equals $7733.

Now I'm not belittling the pilots, or Arpey for that matter for what they earn.
God Bless Em!

But instead of giving me $.38 an hour raise, they should keep it themselves because there are those more in need.

For those of you unlucky enough to NOT have a job, I feel for you. I have been there several times over the past 28 or so years.
At JFK, we have already seen 6 mechanics with an average of 14 years with American quit and head for greener pastures with LOWER pay.

Do you know what the difference is?

They KNOW what they are getting at their new jobs.
They also KNEW what AA promised them when they hired them and now, well, they just can't afford these things anymore.

And before any of you tell me to quit and follow that route, here's my answer to you!

I AM STAYING PUT TO MAKE THEIR LIVES AS MISERABLE AS POSSIBLE WITH JUST MY BEING MISERABLE!
