2015 Fleet Service thread

Not for nothing but, aren't you a mechanic? Aren't you the mechanic that complained about fleet posting in the AMT thread?
Didn't the mod open a topic for you to complain, suggest, discuss labled "2015 AMT Discussion Thread"? Did the mod also open one titled "2015 Fleet Service thread"? Heck, I may be wrong on all accounts.
But it really wouldn't be a big issue if you hadn't already raised a stink about owning your own thread/topic and chastising those who dare enter your territory.
Out of respect for the mod and your fellow AMT's, I have and will continue refrain from posting in the AMT thread. Maybe you should try it if you're gonna preach it.
Even I have been staying out of their Biiizzzznnneeesss.

Update #1

Fleet Service Update:

Sisters and brothers,
The Fleet Service Negotiating Committee met this week in Chicago, Illinois and continued to make progress in reconciling the TWU/IAM contracts.
This process is critical and extremely time consuming. Your committee believes that to best represent the memberships’ interests, we must be fully prepared to meet with the company in negotiations.
Contrary to rumors on the field, and interpretations stemming from comments made by the leadership of American Airlines during recent town hall meetings, American Airlines has not contacted the TWU/IAM Association to indicate that they are ready for negotiations.
The Fleet committee will meet again next week in Fort Worth, Texas to continue the reconciliation process.

Update #2

Let's talk about this one a little. "Unfortunately, yesterday’s announcement of a Tentative Agreement at American Airlines has reset market"

So even though it was the Agents (Union represented mind you) that have been offered a little more than the expectations of UAL management, it appears that UAL MAY need to do a little adjusting to the rates that they offered to those fine IBT represented technicians. (The bar continues it's upward ascension)

The company met with the IBT for the last two weeks and resolved a number of significant items in healthcare, Hours of Service, and Sick and concluded a number of letters of agreement. The company made a comprehensive proposal on Saturday, providing industry-leading pay and benefits and offering meaningful improvements in the retirement area, a substantial early-out, and a base pay increase in excess of Delta’s recent 14.5%. Unfortunately, yesterday’s announcement of a Tentative Agreement at American Airlines has reset market. As a result, both sides have agreed to reconvene in Fort Lauderdale in two weeks’ time after the company has had an opportunity to evaluate the impact on industry market rates of yesterday’s American tentative agreement.

You can bet that they will drag it out, and we will lose $$$$ on a daily basis. I realize that the two unions had to get together to sort things out, but they should have gotton a leg up on that long ago. No reason that they couldn't have compared notes before the ruling, God forbid that they should be ahead of the curve. This is like having my lawyer start to prepare for my case once he has a court date instead of from the time he knew that we had a case at all. Just doing some rough math, this delay will cost all of the members at top rate $640 per month in income for a basic 40 hr week. As much as I'm hopefull that we will get shift premiums like the CWA did, I won't hold my breath.

Guess that you didn't read the update from the APFA where they said that they went to the company to ask if they could also get some of that big payola floating around out there now and were told "So sorry, no soup for you"

I guess you would have preferred that we had wrapped up this thing 10 months ago and we might have been locked in till 2020?

That would have been an awful lot of scratch we would have been watching go POOF POOF POOF!!!!!

Al if you had been the guy in charge of this thing from the word go, right now I'd probably be making the original $26.50. 7% above that first DL rate.

Now I'm staring at $29.27 and MAYBE MAYBE even more if UAL feels compelled to raise uh what did they call it? "Market Rate"

Maybe in 2 weeks when UAL meets again we start to get a little woozy and get back to that 7% above comment? How much might that be? $30.43.

Al you're probably an alright dude but please please stay away from our negotiating table ok.

No one  knew DL would raise their rates that high, its never been done before. How long are you willing to wait for UA to settle? How long have they been at it. They have a new CEO that was one of the excuses the IAM used when it took almost five years for us to get a contract. People are screaming for the CWA here. After UAL settles (and as fleet why would you want anything like a UA contract) should we further wait until July when DL traditionally gets their rate increase? What in your opinion would be fair amount of time for the ass to get to the table

while the talk is about getting the "DL type" wages  I would be more concerned with what does the company want in return???   Cities?  Catering?  anything else??     I feel we should not have to give anything up but that be in a perfect world.   Some of the folks I work with who had worked in DCA said that the company had done the numbers for catering for example repeatedly and its far cheaper to have our own catering in house in DC   If that's the case  then I have to question how is it like in other stations whereas we do catering  vs LSG doing it  such as what LAA has had for years..   Also  I wonder if they would also offer a buy out package   and would it include medical   I know a lot of folks in my station would love to get something like that but the medical has to be there

Robbed, robbed, stay with me man. Don't let some of these new characters sidetrack you.

"The company was determined to outsource stations with five or fewer mainline flights per day. We were able to save all of those stations thanks in large part to member mobilization. Under the tentative agreement, all Passenger Service Employees on payroll on the date of signing will not have their jobs outsourced."

"The company will insource jobs at stations with more than 5 daily mainline departures."

Yes I admitted I was wrong  the ASS knew DL was going to give historic raises and strategically waited. Now you attack me personally just because I dont agree with  you.Well I got news for you if there is something wrong with me there is something wrong with majority of the ASS members because 99% think the way I do. You are the only one thinking they are doing a good job Dude you need to get deprogramed.
