2015 Fleet Service thread

Put $30 an hour on the table, and there will be more people under the bus than there were in 2005. Kinda ironic that the fleet group with the blessing of the IAM flushed 20+ stations down the toilet to save catering, and now they're on the chopping block. I doubt that they will have any sympathy with the exception of some in their cities. I'm pretty sure that the $30 may even override the sympathy.

There is NOTHING on the chopping block right now. They have not met with the company yet. Why would anyone want to even put something like this out there?

What makes it worse those Catering jobs would have been absorbed within those stations

Will the horse trading continue? I would expect Catering jobs may again be on the table. Of course catering jobs are in the LUS hubs. How do you get a TA ratified without CLT and PHL? It will be a numbers game for both sides. Let's see... Catering in the hubs or jobs in outline stations? 2005 all over again. The difference is; this time the company is realizing, and projected to make. record profits. Proposals to eliminate membership jobs should be off the table in JCBA negotiations. Enough!
Don't forget that according to the NMB we have quite a bit of currently non represented people being added to our Class and Craft on the AA side. Since we will be ONE group there is a substantial amount of leverage with those additions. We don't currently do those jobs on our side and I'm quite sure that the company would like to keep it that way?

Alright AA so what will you offer in return for that type of an agreement?

I dont understand what you mean.  Wont tower people be absorbed into the TWU or IAM with their seniority?

Yes, you are correct on that one, and then they were even kind enough to toss the 60 day rule.

Catering has been on the companies wish list for years. Given that US has been the only legacy to still have it in a few locations doesn't help either.

Absolutely. But what happens if everyone who has the seniority (Not experianced) wants to jump into those positions? I can see the nightmare and sweats the company would have if that were to happen in the old AA Hubs and cities.

Remember Monty Hall? "Let's make a deal"

Today's as good a day as any to stop that line of thinking...
We need a lot more people with your way of thinking in our rank and file Kev.

Santa doesn't always deliver the little children's wishes sometimes. Unfortunately for them.

My understanding is all  Ops/Tower  jobs arent going up for bid. There would have an opening. Each agent bidding the job would be trained

It all depends on what's negotiated in the JCBA? Don't just think of the fact that on your side those jobs are being done by you. On our side currently they're not a part of our CBA.
