You do realize US and HP merged in 2005, and a transition agreement wasnt reached until 2008, funny didnt see you and others complaining then?

And people like Al and Bob will never learn.

PMUS was telling PMHP not to vote for the money and worry about jobs, well they voted for the money and 20 stations when out the door.

Be careful what you wish for, look over at UA.
Really can't compare the two, the company put these talks on the fast track even had it written in  some workgroup's agreements. Now the company is saying here's the money come get it. Parker predicted we could have a contract by JAN even went as far as saying our contract should be easier than CWA. 700 what do you think is holding up these talks can I get a honest answer or would telling me the truth hurt your future endeavors with the IAM? they have had ample time to look at these contracts

I have NO current or future endeavors with the IAM.

Putting together six totally different CBAs is not an easy task, but it's easier for you all to throw stones and complain.

If you already had a CBA you would have lost the 14.5% raise and that around $26,000 over. Five year period.

You just got a 9.53% raise in 2014 and just had another raise this past September.

Negotiations are not a race nor should they be rushed.

I didnt realize they were going to negotiate six contracts at once I hope they proof read them I wouldnt want to get stuck doing an engine change. The fact that they are doing all these contracts at once gives some legitimacy to the MTC people who want their own union

Dude educate yourself, you have no idea of what you are posting.

Im commenting on the info you gave me. Everyone who doesnt have ASS blinders on gets it. Heck you were on a negotiating team werent you? How long did it take for you and your IAM team to negotiate lay offs and pay cuts? it was weeks if memory serves me. Not to complicated

We never negotiated layoffs and we are in section 1113 negotiations which is a total different than section 6 negotiations and JCBA

Section 1113 has a timeframe on it. We went to CCY in November of 2004 and our CBA was abrogated in February of 2005.

We never reached an agreement as we could never agree to layoff 46% of the workforce and agree to our pension to be terminated.

Our CBA was abrogated.

Al Al Al Al. (Hand on my forehead, shaking my head) The teams will be negotiating separately. But when these items are written each Unions legal team has to read over them and approve. Writing out contracts is not as simple as you would like to believe they are.

If they were I would have elected you to go and do it for us. (And we'd all be unemployed)

So you failed to negotiate a contract? So now  how are you this expert and how dare you call people fools. You are not losing hundreds of dollars a week, we are. This doesnt concern you. Why dont you go put an egg in your shoe or something

I have a dry sarcastic wit about me, the sooner you understand that the less you will be shaking your head

Hey clueless,

They wanted to layoff 50% of the maintenance workforce and terminate our pension, NO Union would ever agree to that.

Seriously dude, go educate yourself.

Isn't that funny how AMFA was criticized at NW for not bringing back a vote to the membership when NW was eliminating 53% of the AMT membership and a 25% cut in pay for the remaining but your statement somehow holds water. You're correct no union would ever agree to that and shouldn't.

Funny though, they wound up sending 90% of the IAM cleaners and GSE mechs out to the street . In the second bankruptcy the union was powerless therefore useless. In 700S eyes the IAM can do no wrong. He actually thinks the ASS is doing a good job with our negotiations

That's because you were an "association' and not a real onion... LOL
Hypocrisy has no bounds and the lemmings that follow this and justify it is 'anti-worker'.
Take Care, glad you landed in a happy place.

Maybe these folks will not continue to degrade the 'craft' and put you at min wage... DOH!

But I have my doubts... 😛

Come back when You can actually post what happened and get it right.

Let me give you a hint, no Union has any position of strength in bankruptcy.
