2015 Fleet Service thread

No Bob. Greed is NOT a "desire" of mine. Greed rules and controls people's lives far more than what's important. Happiness, friends, family, good health, peace of mind, and home. Greed makes people desperate, mean, callous, shallow, vacuous, and cold.

I chose and prefer not to feel the way you undoubtedly feel. The cold sweats, the scratching and clawing to have more than maybe you need. The thought of when is it going to come consuming you're every thought overwhelming all thoughts of compassion and humanity. The thoughts of YOU over any sense of moral decency or community.

Don't worry Bob. There probably are far more people like you out there than the way I feel? Don't get me wrong. I want comfort and security just like anyone else. But I don't want that at any cost and I certainly don't want to step over all others to get to it.

The only thing I do admire about you Bob is that you have the guts to say what most people feel and you have a picture of yourself out there as a testiment that you don't hide from it either.

Sorry pal. I'm just not you.
Mmm that was well said, and I will keep it as is.

Any truth to the comment Tim made about the Association possibly cancelling this weeks "reconciliation" meeting and postponing it until the end of October?

Last thing I received was this on 10-9-2015

Fleet Service Negotiating Committee Update ,

Mechanic and Related
to Meet Next Week

Probably would have been a little bit less confusing if they had put it out that way. The next meeting from what I heard hasn't been publicly scheduled yet. So there's nothing to cancel.

Few will vote no. Watch the CWA/IBT vote, I bet you it's 90%+. Not like we are talking a 2% raise. First, our union has to find a way to get to the negotiation table since it
seems to be stuck in a game of tic tac toe with the other union. But, if it was $60,000+ and the scope was 5 flights or more, like the CWA, and mimicked other parts of the CWA agreement then I'm not sure what the hold up is because our group is the only group on the property who are not enjoying the Delta +. That's $925 a month we are losing.

regards,
Yes Tim you are correct its not just a 2% raise thats what some on here fail to grasp. Here in NYC you can move your family to a better neighborhood. You could take your child out of a gang infested school and enroll them in a private school or maybe you just sleep better at night not worrying about bills. Yet I have some selfish condescending union a%sh&le tell me "dont be in a hurry you already have  a good.  contract" Well Im not one of the sheep and I will mouth off to anyone who will listen

Sounds like a step back

How's that Association working out...are the supporters still giddy over it.

No negotiations with the company until after the new year...I'm giddy!!

When you constantly see the glass as half empty of course it does. Do you even realize that you never have a positive thought Al?

And you read that where? <_<

My prediction W, just like I predicted we would have issues with the Association. So far, I seem to be one for one IMO.

I callsem as I seeum. If you think no meetings are a positive step, well God bless

Like you W, I have a contact or two and mine do not sound as confident as they once were. The complications are hard to overcome.
But my prediction did not, repeat, did not come from anyone. As a matter of fact, their words were just the opposite, but their tone definitely has changed. Again though W, just one mans prediction on meeting and or presenting the membership with a TA to vote on.

With Fleet service what issues can they possibly have They have already determined what stations are going to be TWU or IAM. Are they fighting over  where  they sit at the table or who got the bigger piece of cake?

If they are at an impasse someones got to step in

Yes W, but I don't like seeing my college football teams cheerleaders cheering for a comback when we are down 52-0 with a minute to play.
Reality is better...positive spins and hopium can be nauseating  at times.

Nothing wrong with predictions W. I have plenty of my own predictions. The one prediction none of us can make is what the company will accept or present to our team? (The dark horse)

their: Assumes that you're speaking about everyone in the room and what their thoughts and feelings are. One or two doesn't make up a room of 12, the Union leaders or those negotiating for the company. Lot's of variables on that equation? 🙄
