2015 Pilot Discussion.

Soon, at Holiday parties all over- west pilots will again be confronted with the fact Super Hero Pilot Chesley Sullenberger will be front and center. Phoenix Summit Law School grad Mitch Vaselino and Cochise Community College graduate Auxier will attempt to vilify Sullenberger, United States Air Force Academy 73 graduate. David Simmons will be regarded as the nut job he is as he attempts in vain to degrade Sully.
2004 hire Nic4 us will steam his pants as the hero east pilot again, rockets to his deserved fame.
The FISHBOWL will rise a few degrees, and the floaters will be netted out.

Sully, welcome to Phoenix
Open letter to Doug Parker.

Dear Doug:

I'm writing to express my complete and utter disappointment with
today's announcement that Captain Sullenberger will be appointed to a
management position within the company. In fact, as a result of Capt.
Sullenberger's decision to use his new found fame as a weapon against
1800 former America West pilots in a recent federal court case over
pilot seniority, I find the company's announcement particularly
insulting. Not only does this decision now forever discredit the
company's purported "neutrality" in the pilot seniority issue, but it
also calls in to question the credibility of the entire safety
management team. As I hope you'll agree, it is in everybody's best
interests to keep flight safety an issue that is far removed from
politics.

I can respect that Capt. Sullenberger has his own personal opinions
regarding the seniority situation, however, I believe that his
decision to testify in court raises reasonable question as to his
ability to adequately perform his new duties without bias. Capt.
Sullenberger did not provide any relevant testimony in the case, and
was only called to testify by USAPA in the hopes that his celebrity
status would unfairly influence a jury. Instead of limiting the use
his celebrity status in support of productive goals such as promoting
aviation safety and the image of US Airways, he blatantly abused that
status by unnecessarily inserting himself on the losing side of an
issue that he played no prior role in. I cannot be reasonably assured
that he would not similarly misuse his position in management.

While I'm certain that this letter will fall on deaf ears, I can
assure you that this letter by no means an end to this issue, and that
you will be in need of much more than a well polished statement at a
crew news session to address it.

Sincerely,
/s/
Mitch Vasin

Bitter?  In 2007, Nicolau enshrined my position near the top of the list from the get-go.  The SLI taking place now will have absolutely no effect on the remainder of my career which right now sits ar the top pay scales at American Airlines.  My seniority number on my own "east" list is north of 100.  Bitter?  HA!

How about you?  Lazy much?

Hey, congrats on the 330 slot.

It appears you are now making $40-50k a year more than me.  If you keep it up for the next 5 years you will break even with what you lost by unnecessarily staying on bankrupt  wages for a decade.

Of course you will never regain the lost value of money from the past.

As for me, I am missing nothing.  When the SLI issues, and the company solves its IT issues, if I so desire and have the seniority, I will bid the 330, bump all former scab union supporters back to their rightful place and call it a day.

You will have still lost a boat load of money in the 2005-2010 era, and I will in most plausible statistical models be senior to you.

Admit it...you are bitter ..................

If not, well you ought to be at least a little pissed.

Whew! "You'se" might actually be the most hopelessly deluded widdle "spartan soldier" in your whole "army" kid.

"you ought to be at least a little pissed"...Seriously?  "Admit it...you are bitter .."? Well, you obviously are, and in fact can't contain yourself against insanely projecting your personal distress on everyone else. Consider some professional help....Seriously. Life's too short to waste as sadly wrapped around the axle as you appear to be,

P.S. Minor points of idle curiosity here:  "(assuming there is enough good dna in your family gene pool to create a Harvard student)" Might we all now reasonably assume "you'se" to have graduated at least summa cum laude from Havard, or is that simply more evidence of a delusionally projecting personality perpetually stuck inside Fantasyland? "you could have a Fleet of 4 or 5 BMWs in the garage,,,maybe a Beech Baron," Whoopee! If one's a huge fan of mediocre machines that is. I'd just a soon have four or five flat tires and a cheese-only pizza instead.

Admit it...you are bitter that the scab union screwed you out of a few hundred grand so that Swan could upgrade.

If not, well you ought to be at least a little pissed.  They cost you...hmmm...lets put it into perspective....with the money you lost, You could have paid for a second home,,,you could have paid a full ride for a grand kid to go to Harvard (assuming there is enough good dna in your family gene pool to create a Harvard student),,,you could have a Fleet of 4 or 5 BMWs in the garage,,,maybe a Beech Baron,,,,a nice 40 foot sailboat,,, the list goes on and on.

What you will never have, if you supported uscaba, is the respect of your co-workers who did not.  Which is now a very large majority over the 2500 who voted in favor.

Absolutely not.  The people that actually know me personally also know that I was a USAPA supporter from day one and continued through today.  In fact, I was the person who had the foresight, years before USAPA surfaced, to purchase the URL: "decertifyalpa.com" knowing it would come in handy at some point.  I donated that URL to the pre-named USAPA effort.  Few remember that "DecertifyALPA.com" was the first URL that USAPA used in its organizational efforts.

Why would someone who had no personal dog in the fight (I'm one of the 517) even bother?  It was a matter of fairness.  The Nicolau award was, first of all, unfair.  Period.  And secondly it violated ALPA's own guidelines on seniority integration, but ALPA, and its panty-wetter president, didn't have the balls to discard it.  How do I know it was unfair?  The common logic on fairness for an arbitrated list is that virtually everyone is pissed off about it.  When Nicolau announced his abomination, the pilots in PHX were grinning ear-to-ear and high-fiving each other.  Hardly evidence of being upset.  But, more basically, putting a new hire in front of someone with 17 years uninterrupted service is simply unfair in my eyes, no matter how you cut it.

So, I have supported and defended USAPA from before day one.  Although I didn't necessarily agree with a lot of the political nonsesnse that went on, I nevertheless continued my support.  I congratulate the USAPA leadership for a job well done!  Bravo!

So, in other words you are a cheat. Your word is not your bond, and you willfully gave up over $500,000.00 and contract improvements in a quest to bully a smaller group.

I just can't wait to see your supremely confident musings next Spring. Idiot.

Sigh...Seriously? That odd little tantrum's given in response to "But, more basically, putting a new hire in front of someone with 17 years uninterrupted service is simply unfair in my eyes, no matter how you cut it."...?  Grow Up.

You gave up so much more than that, how much do you owe Marty for nothing, how much for those stupid ties, how much in lost upgrades.........can't believe you would even make a dumb statement like that flounder ..........reeks of "desperation"

Big smiles son
