It is still 50%+1 of all ELIGBLE voters in order to win.

Not exactly correct either. Once the 50%+1 threshold to call an election is met, if one union gets a simple majority and 50%+1 of the eligible voters have cast a vote, the union with a simple majority win. If 50%+1 of the eligible voters elect not to participate, there is no union representation.

I guess since in about 5 years some of these 350 new hires just announced will likely be Captains due to the East attrition, anybody there won't have to experience it long, because there isn't a chance anything with the Nic award attached will get passed. The Rice Committee is smoking dope if they think any East pilots puts in faith in a contract. They are one sided and only good till the next down turn when the company needs to open them. Since the Nic award will impact the likely downgrades and furloughs that come with the next down cycle, and it will be coming, don't expect a single contract anytime soon. Paul Rice and Bruce York can tout pay raises all they want but the bottom line, is in the end it is all tied to seniority and they are going to find it isn't for sell.
