AAA ALPA Thread 9-7 to 9-13

Bottom line is you voted on all your CBAs and concessions, you and your fellow pilots ratified them, not the MEC.

The MEC that gave away your pension without a vote should have been recalled and barred from every holding office.

Since you weren't on the property the terms vote or impose would mean nothing to you. We were given a choice. Bad or worse. So you blame me for bad. Fine, go ahead. Some day you will get blamed for the same thing. Because history often repeats itself. And I'll be retired LMAO.

Why recall after the fact? The damage was done. And they were voted out the next election. Now that is one vote I was looking forward to cast. At least I got to vote in the election.

What's interesting is that the AWA pilots could found (and maybe still can) a way to capture and share some of the seniority list growth, but people like you and your MEC are creating a war you cannot win because the US Airways pilots will control all voting.

Creating a war? Apparently in your eyes it is all the AWA MEC's evil doings that have created this entire nightmare scenario. If only they were gone (ie USAPA) could this "war" find it's peace. I am ready and waiting for the first of the year for the NMB filing for a vote of representation. I am ready and waiting to hear a USAPA rep in PHX tell me how they have my best interests in mind. Instead all I get from the entity that would like me to send in a card so that I can pay them to be my agent is silence. No organizing drive or contact out west. How could one not be suspicious of a group that promises "a new beginning" for east and west on their website yet they still exclude 30%-40% of their future members from participating on their forums?

Yeah but you could tweak the requirements, higher dues for a few years to catch up. Maybe Part 121 length of service can be factored in. Otherwise these (Virgin, JetBlue, etc) pilots will always be junior to everyone should they choose or be forced to go to another carrier.

If you factor in previous 121 time what you are saying is that you are going to have to go to a guy at an established carrier and say; "Hey this new airline started up about five years ago and now they are joining ALPA. About 120 of their guys have 121 time previous to your National Sentiority Number, so... we are going to have to adjust your number down a bit." This will never fly either.

"Otherwise these (Virgin, JetBlue, etc) pilots will always be junior to everyone should they choose or be forced to go to another carrier."

Because of this they would never join ALPA. As soon as you have one group of pilots who say "No thank you." to a national number the whole idea dies.

Unless ALPA were a pilot sourcing company that completly controlled the supply or they simply issued a number to everyone who recieved a commercial/ATP/Jet type/T-Prop type - you pick, it just can't work.

I am sure that you gave this UAL guy an unbiased, fair presentation of the award.

Yes I did. All it took was a simple statement showing where I was and who was one number senior. So my statement of opinion still stands on a majority of pilots. Or is there some national poll out there that I wasn't given a chance to participate in?

I see, so you showed him one line completly without context and he was able to form an opinion that matched your own. Simply amazing. Yes you have conclusivly proven that a majority of of pilots agree with the east. Iam cowed.

Before deciding, be sure you consider the pay, benefit, work rule, retirement, and attrition protection available to you and the significant quality of life improvements that are available to your family right now through the JNC process. Be sure you are not throwing these things away in return for false hope or out of misplaced frustration and emotion. And certainly not because of someone else's agenda. That frustration should be directed at your MEC, their vocal supporters, and the company.

It's time to put your emotions away, be reasonable about your expectations, talk to your families, and take the path that will bring you the most benefit with the least amount of peril, risk, and instability.

Yes Sir sell your soul to the ALPA devil for a few dollars now and deal with the NIC awards forever.

Do any folks here actually believe that a federal court will utilize a wide degree of reasonableness in any way other then to affirm a full and binding arbitration award?

That's fine but will a court over rule our vote to not accept a joint contract?

The knife cuts both ways.

Stay on LOA93 FOREVER!!! And YOUR B Scale, less vacation accrual, training pay, and whatelse! Your choice.

Um, that was negotiated by your own representatives. It had nothing to with ALPA National.
We all took it in the shorts during bankruptcy. Kinda like having a gun to your head.

It had everything to do with ALPA National.

For instance, the lost retirement: witnesses state that ALPA National silenced expert testimony (several experts) that stated the DB plan did not have to be terminated. ALPA National refused to let actuaries into the "DB termination negotiations".

ALPA National approved a plan to pay a financial advisor for a deal (any deal) contrary to the Constitution and Bylaws. They approved a contract with a bona-fide B-scale (MetroJet), contrary to Constitution and Bylaws.

I have attended two hearings by ALPA National where their only intent was to cover their tutu and could have cared less about rules or the Constitution.

At the very least, dumping ALPA for the behind the scene manipulation on terminating the DB plan unnecessarily will send a message that the pilots are very dissatisfied and would give the pilots a leg to stand on for re-instatement.

I could go on, but then I would have to name names.

You don't read very well, do you?

It does not matter what he does, why cant you ever stick to the topic instead of posting something that has nothing to do with the topic at hand?

Well I think if someone had investments or worked with an investment company that had securities with Usairways, this might constitute a conflict of interest.

Bear did you not post earlier that you worked with an investment type company?
