AFA MEC OFFICERS VOTE

Ok, so the vote for all MEC's is up for grabs this week. How are we to know who applied and who is voting for who? You are to represent us and nobody at least for PHL has told us who applied. How about the communication in other bases. Let it roll and TOTALLY expect this topic to go to the bottom right quick. I'd think as the LEC president I'd ask my members who THEY would like to see as the MEC president. BUT, since NONE of us know who's running we won't know now will we. Is this Russia? FLAME AWAY........ 🙄

I find it astounding that something as important as THIS nobody has anything to say. Let me see, we have what almost 100 views and nobody knows anything about something so important. Everybody ready to get screwed? The union puts out an E-line YET won't tell you WHO IS RUNNING. Does this NOT outrage anyone? I mean I know it's not as important as setting an appointment for a fitting or displacements but really. Is it just me or am I the ONLY one that wants an answer? Ok, something is SERIOUSLY up here. There should have been a readily available list for the members to see just exactly WHO is running. That would be UNLESS someone to the surprise of MANY is running themselves. So whats the secret and better YET I find it amazing that nobody has anything to say about this with over 250+ views. I'm trying to think back in previous years if there was any info. put out about who is running. They probably don't put it out there because only the LECPs vote anyway which I think is wrong.....Contact your LECP and ask for the list as it's your right as a paying union member to know who the choices are.....you're right, why the big secret ????

The way I understand it, if there is a tie for MECP then the current MECP gets the deciding vote....so let's say BOS,PIT,DCA vote for F/A X then LGA, PHL and CLT vote for F/A Z- who just happens to be the current MECP---- then it's a 3-3 tie.

So, then the current MECP gets to decide the tie so he/she votes for F/A Z who just happens to be himself/herself.....so of course he/she stays in office..............just my opinion but to me it's a bit corrupt.

I just do NOT understand how this is allowed. AFA is such a wacked out union. They protect the members but in the end "It's a business". Your and my best interest is NOT first priority. The way this vote goes down is case in point. It's TOTAL BS. Anyway....Something is seriously UP.

On October 10 i personally walked into the afa office. i asked the officer vp and sec to please inform me as to who was running for MEC positions. Later that evening I provided both officers with my cell and email. later that evening I received a partial list from sec Dan Sampey. I am once again asking that the MEC provide us with the pertinent information as to who is running for the AFA mec for usairways. Is this a secret?and if it is whats behind it? we the membership are who turns the screws. we should all demand full accountability. Could it be hypothetically that Mr. John McCorckle is planning to submit his name to an MEC level? it was not too long ago that Mike Flores attempted a raid on Pat Friend.

THERE AE PEOPLE RUNNING AGAINST THEM. BUT ALAS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER AS TO WHOM. OK I'm asking the UNION directly how the hell you can get away with NOT posting the runners? What is the big deal? What is also astounding to me is how nobody really seems interested about it. Nice. 🙄

If John is going to run fine. I believe that though we the members don't get to vote we CERTAINLY have a right to know who is running. WHAT for the life of me are they waiting for? Let us know.

Don't try and twist the situation here stud. I don't really care if someone puts their name in for an AFA officer election because that is part of the union process. The members are the union correct? Well, we are less than 24 hours from a vote on HUGE MEC positions of unrivaled importance during a time of negotiation! Do WE the members have so much as anything in terms of a list of names to provide our feedback to OUR union? NOPE. We got nadda. Zippo. Nothing. I think people running uncontested is crap and sad. Is it really that hard for even one of the bases to put out a list of who is running? Really, an eline from the current MEC Sec/Tres Deb McCormick should have been sent out a week ago with this list. It's her responsibility period. I am tired of our voices being stifled by lack of communication on the MEC level and you know what folks? It's she same people running again.

No I long ago decided that I knew I would not win . You can not go through such an awful ordeal and not get blood splatter on yourself. The accused and accuser end up at the mercy of all the spectators. No I support the people in office and I do not have a hard on for John. As long as I am able to continue to fly I will stay involved which is more than I can say for the rest of you nerdowells.
