ALPA Thread 1/10 to 1/17 ALL ALPA/USAPA Discussed Here

You presume to have had a career first, a pretty tenuous thought to begin with, considering what your own CEO said.

Please fill me in. I think before you've accused your fellow pilots of scabbing without there ever being a strike on property and now you say that jobs were imminently in jeopardy for a company that was not in bankruptcy, nor had it even asked it's employees for one dollar in concessions. It just don't add up.

U-SAPs must provide hard evidence for their claims of ability to lead, rather than rely on speculation (by a CEO or anyone else) of woulda or coulda. And merely saying that "at least we're not ALPA" doesn't cut it.

My MEC just sent this letter out from the law firm of Cohen, Weiss, and Simon, to completely disprove Seeham's scam to get rich off of angry US Airways pilots. I'm posting it here just in case the AAA MEC doesn't think the East pilots are worthy of this information.

The Mike Abram letter speaks to fixing the "award" and does not approve nor disapprove the USAPA plan except and unless USAPA changes their strategy to "modify" the "award". Two different things.

Something tells me he isn't published and he didn't go to an Ivy League law school (among other things).

Wow! I am published yet did not attend any law school, much less an Ivy League one. I know Mike personally and would like to say that he is one of the more intelligent lawyers, even smart enough to know on which side his bread is buttered. One of the smartest things I know a lawyer be able to do is to answer a question by asking his own question and then, answering his own question. Mike excels at that, though I feel his talents are wasted advising ALPA. Your falling for something so basic is not unique at ALPA.

It's hard for me to believe that guys are betting their futures on this guy without knowing much about him.

Intriguing analogy (not). No school makes anybody perfect, but when comparing resume's, it would compelling to favor the applicant who had been accepted to and graduated from an extremely competitiuve school, that accepts a very small percentage of it's applicants, and whose graduates blanket the top positions in the government and private sector.

I can only guess with your "chip on the shoulder" response, that you didn't go to an Ivy League school.

May I assume that with your "holier-than-thou" response that you did?

Aw nuts...and here I declined a scholarship/free ride offer from Cornell, and likewise eschewed the Blue Zoo. Who knew how critical that might prove in much later life by way of potentially effecting AWA-awe  Ummm...did AWA even require college degrees out west?....refresh my memory

In any case: For earlier west purposes, and despite whatever "spin" you now place on it....Seeham was just fine according to your exalted MEC chairman and AWAPA cadre...and now he's an idiot....understood. It won't serve to suprise anyone if you miss the irony involved:

1) Your Alpo MEC's evidently comprised only of full blown geniuses (presumably now with naught but Ivy League credentials?) 😉.... that'd NEVER steer you wrong out west...just ask you.
2) The same bunch earlier selected counsel that you now find reasons to mock.
3) ....But yet it naturally follows that Alpo must needs only be employing the very sharpest tools in the box for both legal purposes and MEC staffings....?? 😉

I'll merely suggest a review of good old Philosophy 101: "All men are mortal. Socrates is a man...Socrates is mortal"/etc 😉

The Air Wisconsin example is most telling. As a matter of fact it sounds eerily similar to the situation USAPA is trying to create! This little tidbit comes from the judge in that case...

"an attempt by a majority of the employees in a collective bargaining unit to gang up against a minority of employees in the fashion apparently envisaged by the plaintiffs could itself be thought a violation of the duty of fair representation by the union that the majority used as its tool."

USAPA will be sued. And with precedent such as this I don't think it would be difficult to imagine a successful outcome. The east will hurt every pilot on this property by bringing in this new union. It is painfully clear what USAPA's main objective is. It is to eliminate the Nicolau list either by throwing it out or by creating a situation where the list is rendered moot. No matter as we see in the previous example regarding Air Wisconsin. "...the union that the majority used as its tool" will be responsible and is therefore subject to DFR!

Ya know I have to point out that in your arguments you are quick to state that you are not part of the "ALPO" MEC disease out east, you never got to vote etc. However you proudly claim to be as one with your fellow pilots. So tell me how is it you can assert we are one yet separate when it concerns the MEC and then turn around and say to a west pilot he is in full cahoots with his respective MEC simply because he is a west pilot?!?!? Serious levels of hypocrisy noted here...

Tiger: " how is it you can assert we are one yet separate when it concerns the MEC and then turn around and say to a west pilot he is in full cahoots with his respective MEC simply because he is a west pilot?!?!?"

I don't so assert...hence the usage of "irony". I've found little more than "It's all the fault of the east MEC/east pilot group" coming from the west thus far. This supposes a profound dedication on the east to said MEC, and by extension..Alpo..which obviously doesn't exist. If/when we all can finally come to realize that the the line pilots on BOTH sides have neither made this mess we're all in, nor are truly responsible for it....perhaps we can finally move past at least the respective "Your MEC did...whatever!!...NO!!..It was yours!!/Nyaah, Nyaah!/etc" and seek some small progress towards future resolution....however far away that may yet be. The "My lawyer can beat up your lawyer..umm..even if he formerly WAS my lawyer" bit was just a convenient hook to hang that thought on via the "tribal" absurdites inherent in the "argument".

Circumstances way different. Better example, please. I can think of one and that is covered.

At least we will not have to suffer the tyranny of a minority.

USAPA will be sued.

I have no doubt. I am certain you can (barely) find some two-bit attorney to file the papers for you. Buy him a suit and he may even show in court for you.

Well, I am ready to be educated. Could you please identify the differences in each case? Specifically cite how Air Wisconsin's goal was any different than USAPA's is today.

Because this case is not a union vs the company it is union vs union.

Seham is just after the money, that is why he was behind the creation of amfa.

That was too good!!!!! Great points and it was hilarious!!!!!!!

That was truly hilarious. Cute pics/standardly adolescent Alpoid approach overall. They're courting the "teenaged-mentality/moron vote" it seems, as that's their only possibly receptive audience at this point. I've some doubt that many will be much impressed to Alpo's benefit. I especially loved the "costing us all 20 million dollars a month"...etc/ad nauseum. Umm....is it just me?....Or does anyone else think to observe that USAPA doesn't even yet exist as a bargaining agent...and ummm....that the "200Bazillion dollars a month" BS's going on directly under Alpo's enlightened tenure?...and has been for, well...years now 😉 Translation = "We're all gettin' scrooched..and it's that darn USAPA's fault..even though they don't yet even exist"...Brilliant.

No fruit known to mankind anywhere gets any more twisted and spun rotten than that found under the Alpo tree.

I wonder if the marketing geniuses that made that Oscar grabber are on flight pay loss.....

A never ending source of amusement 😉 ..Speaking of which: Did you guys really get AWA320 to train the goat? I won't even ask about the "passed out" woman on the floor getting her teeth flossed by the goat....might be some kinda' local Alpo custom I'd best not pry into....nor be "insensitive" towards...but...Animal Porn's just not as universally popular as the Alpoid filmakers might imagine...and for those who may "Vote, Based on the Goat"...wellllll...

PS: Most important question I have = Who owns that beautifull plane shown at the end?

And..since there's been some clearly of the "politically correct" persuasion out west that I've previously heard from, and are thus doubtless fully concerned with animal rights as well...I'll just offer the following: www.peta.org and www.aspca.org Have fun kids 😉

So judging by your response I'd say it got your goat! Pun intended of course...

 Roger that

PS: I can miss obvious opportunities at times..but: If you think "Vote for Pedro" was a hit...just imagine : "Vote Goat!" 😉

Perhaps we could prevail on you to do a little work, for once? It might even help you understand why your position will only lead a worse case for the westies, diddling around, peeing into the wind while you should be working to preserve your DOH/LOS with conditions and restrictions. You remind me of a grasshopper partying before winter while the ant works.

A little birdy from ALPA told me the west MEC has, irresponsibly, no "plan B", hoping ALPA will "bail them out". I am reminded of almost ten years listening to the same refrain, to no avail. Considering ALPA has written off US, do you really think they will reach out and "save" you, and why? Because you are such a "great" guy? You are nothing more than a spreadsheet entry for ALPA. When your "cost" reaches what ALPA is willing to spend on you, adios, and that point was reached last summer.

You might wish to wake up your own MEC to mitigate the inevitable crunch to your fantasies from reality.
