Oh yea..if the pilots just start holding hands Jerry Glass and Dougweiser are going to just throw money all around with Oil hovering around an all time high. Dream on...dream on

Mike;
I don't know about holding hands, but walking lock step with the backing of ALL 5000+/- would go a long way. If all 5000 participants were tasked to show up at public events, clog the entry to various terminals, show up at events that Parker was scheduled to be, etc. it could have an effect.

There are other tools that can encourage Parker to finish this deal sooner than later. My point is that failure to participate in the JNC and failure to act as one body will ensure existing contracts, pay and conditions for years to come. The winner?? LCC, the stock holders, and Parker's management team. The losers? The re-hired pilot that will be on reserve for years. The newly upgraded captain that will be on reserve for years. The pilot that was expecting upgrade in 6 months because of manditory retirements. You get the picture.

The only advance we can affect is a new contract NOW. Perhaps Parker can then start some more growth here for further career advancement.

My decision to make in the next few weeks, the way I see it, is to choose a process that will forever eliminate the concept of length of service from the lexicon and mechanism of establishing seniority within our ranks; in exchange for the promise of money, rigs and some other enticements which will have a shelf life ending in the next recession, industry reallignment, or some other geopolitical event which will give management the excuse to demand it all back.

There is a principle involved and at risk on the one side, short term gain on the other. An unproven, untested embryonic experiment calling itself USAPA versus a bloated, discredited, dysfunctional and self serving organization called ALPA which sacrificed the interests of this pilot group in favor of those of Delta, United and Northwest a long time ago.

I am by no means certain we will succeed. But the underdog gets my vote on this one.

, you're going to be gridlocked for two years. Maybe then you might start to begin acting like mature adults. But right now, I'm just not seeing it.

You worked for years at lowest wage given to a pilot, for that matter your whole career.

You mention maturity as an adult and request team effort, but you have a stapler as your icon.

You sir are an immature adult who is a hypocrite.

end of alpa: ever consider taking a chill pill? Posting 34 times in this one thread, sometimes 3 - 4 post in a row, is somewhat excessive. You seem to be obsessed with something. Are you OK to fly with?

Whatever happens regarding ALPA or USAPA will happen. But, based upon what I see coming from you, I'm concerned we might have a couple distracted pilots out there.

Maybe a nice walk through the park will help.

All you waffles worry about is what I'm doing. Just wait until you see the "sea of yellow lanyards" out on the line. It's pretty cool out East! I wouldn't worry about my flying skills...we're not that OLD out East that we can't fly and chew gum at the same time.

You're right 'bout that....whatever happens happens; but after what I saw at the airport today, however, describes only one thing....EXCITEMENT! Yellow lanyards everywhere! Lets see what the AWA Concerned Pilots Committee, oh I mean the ALPA introduction meeting, sorry I mean the Lance and Marshall...oh whatever, INDOCTRINATION program has to offer in CLT tommorrow.

I do hope any and or all of you from out west drop in and support the "home" team if your in CLT tomorrow...it ought to be quite a show.

I'm only obsessed with one thing my friend....ALPA OFF THE PROPERTY!

NOT...WITH....NICOLAU. "Tie a yellow ribbon 'round the old oak tree...."

d-cc, now you're shadowing me from one thread to another. And doing some out of context para-phrasing while you're at it. That puts you right up there with e-o-a in the "get a life" category. Spooky! 😛h34r:

You guys must be really nervous about the future of your big experiment. Remember, if (or when) the NMB - thanks to 100% ALPA support from the west  - says no dice to usapa  , you're going to be gridlocked for two years. Maybe then you might start to begin acting like mature adults. But right now, I'm just not seeing it.

Have a nice day, mein klein schatten......

NLC

Nervous? I'll stake my future with the FINEST pilots I have ever had the honor and priviledge to be associated with. I'll do you one better....I DON'T DESERVE TO WALK THE HALLS WITH THE GUYS ON THE EAST! These guys OOZE maturity. Allegheny, Mohawk, Eastern, Braniff, Piedmont, Empire, US Air and Shuttle have taken it on the chin with the best management has to offer and the cream is still here.....it's just extremely sad that the final BLOW to unity had to come from ALPA.

Unionism is no experiment, SIR, it is a principle! USAPA is NO experiment, SIR, it is an embodiment of what ALL the East pilots stand for....something that most of you could only wish to be a part of. Acting like "mature adults"?

I'M COUNTING ON IT!!! These guys know what I'm talking about.

It's where the number "25" on an USAPA pin stands for years, not like on an ALPA pin where it stands for ".25" cents. These pins will be out in the next few days. You'll see them too.

It's where "Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree" is what you'll be seeing here out East in the next few days...a "sea of yellow ribbons round the old oak trees".

Ladies and Gentleman, "Tie a yellow ribbon round the Old Oak Tree."

You, Sir, are not alone.

"Tie a yellow ribbon'round the old oak tree..."

I thought there was a line in that song "Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine". Clearly the U-SAPs don't.

My Mastiff left a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree.

In response to my question regarding USAPAs plan should they not win the election.

Uhhhh....I don't know. And frankly, I don't see you guys enhancing the odds of an ALPA win, quite frankly.

So again, we'll just have to see. I know ALPA can't get 1422. Now that I'm sure of.

So you don't come out unequivocably stating that USAPA will disband its organization, stop all attempts to overturn Nicolau, and begin to support joint negotiations? Here's your vote. Will you honor the outcome? Should we believe any answer coming from the east?

for 20 plus years your pilots have accepted minimum wages, this did not help any pilots cause. A merger will happen if the nic award is ever accepted by our group, then our "brothers" of ALPA will furlough us like the AMR pilots did to their "brothers" at TWA.

In fact I wonder if your "brothers" (generic term for pilots regardless of gender) on the bottom of the AWA list know that at least 300 of them will be furloughed after the impending merger and will never see their jobs back.

The way e-o-a describes what is going on in CLT has got me starting to worry: Excitement!! A sea of yellow ribbons!! Quite a show!! Indoctrination!! Pilots oozing!!

This all sounds like the perfect, modern-day Jonestown scenario - with an added biohazard problem.

Thank you for that informative, backed by facts and mature observation.

By the way, what does the stapler you use in your icon represent?

I wasn't aware that the AA/TWA merger used realtive seniority. And when did ALPA furlough anyone? And isn't USAPA patterned after APA?

All anyone is looking for is an answer to a simple question so that they can have some insight into the mindset of USAPA. All we get are cryptic answers that beg more questions and undermine USAPAs credibility.
