Changes in First Class Catering?

Whats going on with transcon catering? Yesterday, all the afternoon flts had NO food boarded for coach OR FC from CLT to SFO. I worked the 7:35 pm flight CLT-SFO and not a crumb in FC. This is horrible.

I agree. That is horrible! It's downright cheap! But I believe this might have been a catering mistake if all the afternoon flights have no food. If it's 5 hours, you are supposed to have food on the flight. Did you even get any type of snacks or tidbits? Catering has done this to me before and I've always sent them back to the kitchen to get me snacks. The first thing I check are always my catering carts and I would definetely write this up and send an email to the food and beverage department or better yet...the next time Doug has a meeting in CLT, address this to him! Good Luck!

Not our first day of work...Catering said there was no food...hadn't all day. I just don't want this to turn in to another excuse marathon that the new management team seems to have adopted. This stuff is a no brainer. Somebody is dropping the ball. Do you freakin job.

AND, the 7:30 parameter is stupid. One connects from a 4 or 4;30 flight with no food and then has to run over to a long flight. Are we that bad off that we must RAPE our fc customers by not only providing NOTHING for First (LAST) Class but justifying the same price as UAL, AMR, or CAL where you would get an elaborate service? WAKE UP guys, we are driving our full fare customers away and most of you can only say like a damn robot..Tell Doug at the meetin' or this is the way it is. We are a LCC now. Well, MF, let the PRICE rfelect the SERVICE. THAT'S why the PineyBobs and US1YFare's are angry. We are misreprsenting ourselves. Either provide REAL f/c class or pull it out!!! NOW!!

I definetely agree with you and our ground agents needs to stop calling it first class because it is not!

After years of apologizing to our passengers, I just let them know to send an email to the company.

It is pretty sad believe me. We can make a suggestion to the company, but the passengers should really write a letter. It is challenging to provide a service when you don't have the tools.

Here are some suggestions that might help with the level of service (or lack there of) for all the UEast FA's to pass on to there guests in FC. For us in the west we have gotten used to the low level of FC service. Ever since the old AWA released the food and beverage director our FC service has gone down hill. As most of you know that the bottom line and the investors is all that matters at the New USAirways. It's not about providing a good product but is about how cheap we can do it. We at UWest have tried to bring back a higher level of service to our FC pax but have been unsuccessful.

Have all your customers that are unhappy with the service in FC write a letter to the following people:

ron.cole@usairways.com
maureen.dean@usairways.com

Maureen is the one who creates our wonderful FC service and is a company person who plays by the numbers. If you are in phoenix USEast crews can stop in and visit Maureen, her office is just off the briefing room in PHX.

Let our FC guest sent thousands of nasty grams and tell the company what they think of the level of FC service and maybe we can make a differance with their help..

Seriously whether it's after 7:30 or not, if the flight is 5 freakin hours long we need something up there even if it is some rock hard sandwich. Why is this stuff happening? Is someone in Tempe on drugs? Trying to keep an open mind here but come on! Even Southwest gives a nice little snack box FOR FREE!!!!! I'm starting to understand the anger from the FF's. And pardon my ignorance but what are Tidbits? Is that like the snack basket?

Uh, no, tidbits are what we call on the eastside--the nuts and pretzel mix that they now serve in the generic US white bag--that is all they serve when no meal!

You see where we are coming from when we are paying $800, $1200, and more for a ticket!

And, I think I was one of the first to predict that they would schedule a lot of long haul flights between 735 and 750 pm to avoid serving a meal.

Well this is ridiculus, where are those picket signs? Looks like we (employees, FF's, dogs, cats, Beverly the goat, whoever) need to roll it on up to 111 W. Rio Salado!!!! Where is PITBull? Call the media!!!! All jokes aside that's probably what it's going to take.

I'm sorry US1Fare,

please e-mail:

ron.cole@usairways.com
maureen.dean@usairways.com

Maureen is in charge of catering. We as flight attendants can make suggestions, but customers can make a difference.

If we as employees and customers bombard them with emails they will respond.

OK people, NO ONE RESPONDS. I can push SEND until I'm blue in the face and NO ONE RESPONDS. These people are beyond arrogant.

Oh, and Piney, they call me mellow yellow. This is where I vent, but I am a very pleasant person to speak to--at least I think so.

Well, at least as far as I can tell on the timetables, the only transcontinental flight affected is the 7:40 p.m. CLT-PHX flight. All the other US transcons/midcons leave around 6ish, which is well before the cutoff. There's a CLT-LAS scheduled for 7:30 on the dot, which I would guess? would have food.

There are a bunch of HP flights to LAS that leave later - around an 8:15 p.m. bank, but they haven't had food on HP anyway.

Yeah, sorry about the French Toast.

You know, with the right delivery, that could be a really funny line.... kind of like "French Toast" is the name of the standard poodle that's humping your leg at your girlfriend,s aunt's house.

There is a PHL-LAS. And then when the season changes, there is at least a PHL-SAN after the 730 cutoff, but then again, SAN flights have always had screwy catering.
