CWA/Teamster labor thread -

That would be the most bonehead decision, if it turns out to be true.

The AFA and USAPA have been negotiating for five years without an agreement and they are not even close.

They opened up negotiations with the IAM M&R with Fleet and MTS to start later this year.

This is from the web site :
There will be pre-meetings set up in each local to discuss the issues for contract bargaining and a survey put together to send out to the active CWA membership to give their feedback and input sometime in early 2011.

And when was that updated? From what I heard the Local Presidents agreed to the delay.

Sent an email asking about negotiations, questionaires and delays. Here is the reply.

There will be questionairs sent out for input to the best of my knowledge. There will also be station visits which XXX will be one. Planning end of this month. To the best of my knowledge there are no delays, negotiations will begin in July. No Presidents have agreed to any delays that I have heard, I know this one hasen't

Not sure what local your in but here in the QC, sparks had flown over it with some members and the local president. Apprently there was a argument of some sorts in one of the breakrooms between a former president and the current one.

Don't ya just love rumors tadjr? Seems your right, CWA did not delay it.

Part of the problem I have with the CWA is the C part- Communications. I know it means they are communication (ie telephone) people, but you'd think that someone with that in their name would COMMUNICATE a little better and let the agents know what is and isnt happening. Not just on negotiations, but arbitrations, grievances, well....everything. Seems that there arent a lot of the CWA guys above membership level (iow everyone from the Local up) that know how to actually communicate and let people know whats going on and what they are doing for us. This would help a lot with not having rumors floating around as well.

That's two Presidents that said no delay then. Since there is nothing updated about a delay on the website and two people who should know said no, we can only surmise that there is no delay (as of now of course).

Right, they just added the new one, otherwise do you think I would have posted?

Get real.
