What's new

East crews out West.

About six weeks later, I sat up front on another west flight. Different Captain but same F/O, who didn't seem to remember me. During the flight, the F/O was engaged in a conversation with the other jumpseater, and began to relate the story he had told me. But guess what? The details had changed. I looked at this crumb and realized that for whatever reason, he was putting out b.s. for pure dramatic effect.

Given that poster's earlier material...I've earlier suspected the same, hence my "if true"/etc...BUT: I'll not offer any AWA person the slightest intentional personal offence, nor will I tolerate any slightest such from them. I think that we're on the same page here.

Ever hear of CRM?

Now-ah...don'se you be gittiin' all's high falootin' over terms..sum's here don' much 'stand fer eny such ="GROW UP OLD MAN"= An apparent salutation by AWA standards = "Waaah!...Why didn't this eastie senior captain/"OLD MAN", who's perhaps flown and fought in war, has most certainly flown many, many thousands of airline hours more than me/etc....just NOT kiss my pimply faced, and Mesa "eddicated" newborn arse?" I don't get it ...Mom thinks that I'm really cute 😉

In any case: We must all properly strive to see each other as actual people..and that requires the least modicum of mutual respect..if even for just the miracle of common life...period. The complete idiots will sort out over time.....as they always do.

That the westie "pilot" crowd makes such extremely difficult at times isn't the point.

I'll again note that improper social interaction is just that, and only a child would think oherwise. I'll offer no "Westie" any insult when seeking "my" jumpseat, nor otherwise in any crewroom. Having said that?: I don't owe any pimply faced little jerkoff from WHEREVER the time of day..other than as I see fit.

I was at the La Quinta in LAS on two consecutive nights recently, and saw a couple of East crews. Most of them didn't acknowlege my existence one way or another. One guy walked by and looked at me, I said hello and he looked away and kept walking. The last day, however one guy was friendly and chatted for awhile. He was Philly based and headed back to the left seat of a 737 in CLT sometime in the fairly near future. He was a nice fellow.

I tend to be skeptical of some of the seemingly embellished stories though. The worst that has happened to me is the silent treatment or simply no acknowlegement either way. Definately nothing to get worked up about.

What is your problem? Maybe before preaching to everyone else on how to act you should take a good long look in the mirror. Stupidity and ignorance like this is what keeps the pot stirring.

I'll agree whole-heartedly with general civility..and I've certainly not yet seen anything to indicate that "we" can't talk..as of yet. Our fuitures are in our own hands gentlemen...as troublesome as that seems 😉

I look forward to any Eugene or Boise overnights.

I remember EUG as a beautiful place w/ lots of different kinds of Henry's.

Also PDX would be nice, again w/ lots of micro brews.

The one I really want to see is Boise.
Sorry to disappoint, but EUG is express and BOI trip stinks....

Why does BOI "stink"?

Never been there but have heard interesting things.
Don't listen to Hula, BOI is a wonderful overnite. The day layover is the longest we have on mainline about 17 hours. Then nite layover is only 14 hours. We are right next to a pretty lake, and jogging area. Downtown is about a 15 minute, pretty walk. Some cool restarants and shops. You can always rent a car and go skiing. I am sure they just got lots of snow the last 24 hours. When Mesa operates 2 or more flights on certain days, we sometimes get a 24 hour layover, or 32 on occasion. All in all, a great quite place, just to relax, and enjoy the fresh air!!! 🙂
